So abit of history, had acne since I was fourteen. When I turned 15 I went to the derm, he prescribed retin-a
and doryx. This made my face infininately worse. Turned it red, scarred and bordering severe. (however I dont get cysts ever) I get acne mostly on my cheeks, sides of chin and occasionally on my forehead.
So I stopped my meds and went on proactive in Oct. to Jan. It worked very well and cleared my up. However after a while it stopped working, and it just got expensive.
I tried a pill called Herpanacine and I dont know if it would have worked because right after the Initial Breakout finnished my mom told me the bottle was too expensive.
So I'm giving the CSR a shot. I'm almost 100% it'll work if I give it time.
Heres the products I use morning and night:
Aveeno gentle cleansing bar for dry skin (my skin is actually oily but this bar Is still the best, is very free of those crazy excess chemicalls, very gentle, Takes out excess oil, but dosnt leave skin dry, and in my opinion is the best.)
Neutrogena on the spot 2.5 % BP (I plan on gettin Dans BP when I get a chance but for now I'll use this)
Neutrogena oil free moisurizer for sensitive skin.

So I guess this is day one, My skin feels alittle red and irrataded like I got a sunburn. This hapens after I put on Moisturizer.
Hmmm.... skin status: um moderate, six active pimples, medium size ones. I guess I'll post pics later.
O BTW I swim in the afternoons, cause I like swimming in the summer and I notice it kinda fades redmarks abit.

Day 2.

Man my face feels red and irritated, I guess this means its working so thats good right. I put a small amount of 10% BP on the bigger spots, It seems to work.
I notice my face becomes red after the moisturizer, mabey I should switch? Well when I run out I will. Same thing with the BP, I'll switch to Dans after I run out of the neutrogena on-the spot.
I'll probly go swimming today if it dosnt rain.

BTW: I found a pic. of me a couple months ago when it was more "severe" it's so painful to look at, I want to rip it into pieces and throw it in a furnace.

Good luck with your regimen and hang on in there even if it seems your face doesn't look better. I'm sure that in a couple of weeks' time you'll notice some results.

Keep us posted on your progress. grinwink.gif

hey, if you are red and irritated already you may need to slow down on the bp. We usually recommend people take about 4 weeks to work up to the full amount. So, decrease the amount you are using, to about 1/4 finger this week, then 1/2 finger the next, and so on. Use plenty of moisturizer, if that one is causing stinging you can either stick with it and see if it subsides, or switch to something else and hope that one works better.
good luck!

Thanks for the advise. But the redness occors right after I use the moisturiser, so I'll switch when I get a chance. Or just wait it out.

Ok so I decided that for the next week I will be on a healthy diet to compliment the regimen, and lessen the afects of the IB soon to come.
I'll be taking fiber(psylliam husk) in the morning and at night. Morning I'll probably have abit of fruit or oatmeal with Soymilk. Afternoon will be a nice salad with virgin oil, and in the evnings probably some plain pasta(I found pasta does not seem to break out my skin) with plenty of fruits and vegies inbetwen. Also I will drink plenty of water. And every other day I'll swim for about an hour. I find swimming dries up pimples and fades the look of redmarks. And at the end of the week I'll go on mini three day juice fast.
I guess this will be very good for my skin and plan to continue eating relatively 'healthy' for a while.

Day 3
My face dosnt feel as irritated as yesterday, but it sure as hell was dry.
My face still looks 'sunburned, but not as bad as yesterday. My skin felt a tad smoother today and a few new spots, popped up, but they seem to die quick.
I swam for about 1 hour today. Redmarks abit faded.

Day 4

Not much to say. I waited 45 min. this morning to apply moisturizer and viola! no burning. Although my skin still is dry.
The Initial Breakout has started and I can see some of those bastards ready to come up. I aplyed a small amount of 10% BP on those. Hopefully this'll finish soon enough.

You might find this weird, but you're encouraging me! wink.gif

I started on july 24 also, and I've been experiencing the same things(which makes me think we're on the way to better skin). I followed Brandy's advice and my face is not as dry.(even if it's dryer than usual). Go gradually on the BP. I started with the full amount, thinking it would go faster...Result: layers of skin fell off and the moisturizer burned like hell. evil.gif

Keep us posted!

ps: I too found a picture yesterday of myself when I had just given birth... cry.gif Made me wanna cry! I'm so sick of this acne holding me back..

Thanks for the encoraging words Metric! I hope to see your log soon!
Well........
Day 5.

So Good News and Badnews.
Good news the Initial breakout has just started, I'm glad it's happening so soon so I dont have to worry about it later.
Bad news. I'm breaking out, and I'm supposed to meet this hot girl in like two days. Oh well I guess I'll delay it to next weekend. I couldnt swim since it's raining today. Overall Im feeling lazy and tired.

Day 6.
A few more spots popped up overnight, But they were dry and looked like they are about to die. Otherones are already dry and almost dead.
So hopefully this can be completly resolved by monday. I also woke up with a pimple on my nose. Pretty strange since the CSR isnt being applyed to my nose, and I never ever get pimples on my nose. However I do get small blackheads and under-the-surface white heads.
I did squeeze yesterday (although I never do) and thats what caused it to get worse.
Whatever I'll go for a swim later today, which'll furthur dry them out.
I noticed that since I started swimming my redmarks have faded substantially.

I really stopped on the moisturizer. I dont know if this'll inhibit me. All I know is my skin isnt red and irritated anymore. I'll probably start using it again when I go to school though.

Why not buy Herpanacine from Vitacost.com? I found it cheapest there for only $17.67

5% off with coupon WZ56ACB

Go to http://evreward.com/coupon/go/378 to get more discounts by directing you to sites that give you rebates like ebates, fatwallet, bigcrumbs, mrrebates, etc...

You can also try out Vitacost's acne product called NSI Praventin or Futurebiotics' AcneAdvance which has a twice the dose of NSI's Praventin although only 33 servings compared to NSI's 60.
