I have these bumps underneath my skin that appeared when I first started taking accutane. I can't see them, but I can feel them, and i'm scared to death that they either aren't going to go away, or they're going to scar. I haven't touched them, and they've been here for a month now....

god help me.

I got my first nose bleed last night.

AND AHHHHHHHH!! I CAN'T STOP ITCHING NO MATTER HOW MUCH MOISTURIZER I USE!! eusa_wall.gif

The skin around my temples is SO red and irritated. I had exczema there in the past so maybe that explains it..

The itching went away for me after the first month. I've done 2 &1/2 months, and I still have bumps I can feel under my skin on my chin...I don't know what's going to go down.

It sucks that you got a nosebleed eusa_boohoo.gif.

When I went to visit him, he just walked in, didn't say a word, looked at my face, wrote the prescription, handed it to me and walked out. It was kind of strange.

That would have freaked me out! Isn't he supposed to go over all the possible side effects and what to expect and what you have to do, etc.? "This isn't a drive-thru window it's a doctors office!"

Haha yeah, but I don't know, I guess he figured I had done my research maybe.

Today mine had already written the script when she came in. She was half way out the door when I was trying to ask a question. She did come back in to answer it. But it takes longer to get blood thne it does to see my derm.

My arms and scalp are what drove me crazy with the itching. MY scalp stopped intching during the first month. My arms just recently stopped itching about 2 and a half months in. What sucked is the since my skin got thin I'd scratch and break my skin.

Being sick on accutane sucks. I have a sinus infection. cry.gif

But the good news is I get to stay home from work, my skin is so shitty right now. It's like every clogged pore in the world decided to hang out on my face and throw a party. Bitches.

heey kanmi, sorry to hear that you're not feeling too great sad.gif. oh man, the itchiness!! i remember that. it goes away after a little while though. as for the nosebleeds, i had some pretty intense ones, aka blood literally pouring out of my nose, but now they've died down. what i did to prevent them was put a bit of aquaphor on a q-tip, and then put some in my nose. it worked! i guess that's all for now, but good luck and stay positivee! (and feel better smile.gif!)

You'll never know until the end. I'm having some hideous spots pop up, and I just finished month three.

You gotta wait out the 6 months from hell to really know...

p.s. i've heard that some people have scars that disappear after they stop accutane. weird.IPB Image

Going craaaazzzyyy hooooooo. No but seriously.

I'm having the shittiest accutane course. My old scars look larger than before. My skin looks like fucking shit. All these clogged pores and blackheads sticking out all over the place. I'm breaking out in cysts everywhere. Mostly in the really scar prone areas. Of course.

My exczema is flaring back up around my temples, no how moisturized I keep it. The pores there look HUGE as well. And I also noticed a new scar on my face i've never seen before. Like a slash scar.

My body is SOOO sore. I can't even perform my job right i'm so sore. At night when I lay down, I have to do it so slowly. And once i've layed down, it hurts so bad, so I have to pretty much sleep with my knees to my chest.

I can't even bend over. Ugh god damnit.

Hey girl keep your head up. You're still in Month 2 right? You have so much time. Some people take longer than others to see results. There's only a few lucky ones that see results in Month 1. I just checked out your myspace page and you are a gorgeous girl... so don't worry, you will love you skin by late 2006/early 2007 when you're done with this stuff.. and that's really not that long away if you think about it. Try not to worry about any scarring, I can't see any scars in your gallery pics. So the scarring you may have is completely superficial and accutane will do its job to smooth all that out. Have a great weekend, I should be starting accutane this week eusa_hand.gif

Thank you so much inlove and redsox. I know, it isn't that long but .. it still feels like it's taking so much time out of my life. All I do is hide. I never go outside except to work. And soon I won't even be doing that because I turned in my two week's notice on Wednesday. I need to work on getting myself better. All I do every day as soon as I get home from work, is I just sob my eyes out until I finally pass out from exhaustion.

I hear ya... I feel like acne has taken a lot out of my life too. I didn't start breaking out until I was 18-19 and I am 22 now, in november I will be 23.. and I finally found a derm willing to put me on accutane.. there's been so many social situations I've avoided because of my skin, I can't even count em. My BF who I have been dating for 8+ months, I still haven't met his mother yet. Just cuz I am so self-conscious about my skin!! Of course he doesn't know that's the reason. I just tell him I'm not ready to meet her yet. I keep telling myself by the holidays this year, I should be confident enough to meet her. I know my skin isn't extremely horrible and when I have makeup on, most people probably wouldn't even notice I have a problem. But I still need it to look better confused.gif Just be happy you are very young (18 right?) and have many more "young" years to enjoy! Without acne!
