27th june - 5 july (40mg Roaccutane)

Hello anyone who reads this, and thanks if you have taken the time, i just found this site and i think its awesome there's so many people in the same position i am... obviosuly its not awesome that were all plauged with acne but atleast ... phew, i'm not alone!

I started taking roaccutane last wednesday, the 27th. Was finally prescribed it by the derm in may ... but damn he wouldnt give me the drugs untill after my a-level exams!

Progress

So far ... no difference what-so-eva! but i'm cool with that, and am willing to be patient, and other people have commented that my skin has become more smooth, less bumby.

as for the side effects the only thing i have realised is the dry skin!! argh its annoying, and the dry lips! ... god knows how many tubs of vasaline i'm gonna go thru! But i don't care, aslong as it works its worth it right?

What now?

I don't know what to expect now. I know my acne might get worse before it gets better. But i'm not sure when this will happen, or how long it will last! if anyone can help give me a rough idea of what ive got to expect, it would be appreciated!

I started taking 40mg/day on June 2nd and so far I've experienced lots of side effects but no major clearing of the skin. I think you have to be taking it for at least 2 months before the breakouts stop.

Generally it takes a few months to see major noticeable differences. Unfortunatley, side effects start pretty quickly. Hope everything goes well!
