I had moderate bacne and then I went on anti biotics and it cleared up. Also I found how soft the things you sleep on makes a difference. My back is completly clear btw. I suggest anti biotics to anyone who hasn't tried them.

is this permanent or only while on the antibiotics?

I have been on them since december. There are so many different kinds of antibiotics, that once on stops working, you can switch to the other kinds. I don't even follow all the directions that well anymore and it still works great.
