let's say I put a bunch of vinegar on my face and walk around town. Won't people notice the terrible smell?

You don't want to leave vinegar on, you're supposed to rinse it off after 10 minutes. It's basically like a weak alpha hydroxy acid (malic acid) that will cause your skin to exfoliate if you do it daily for a month or two, and I think apple cider vinegar kills bacteria too.

But yeah, it smells like shit.

I've seen some people say that ACV + bentonite clay makes a good homemade mask. You could try that. It makes good sense in theory - bentonite draws out inflammation, toxins, impurities, and ACV kills those and minorly exfoliates. Maybe I'll try it someday if they ever stop selling QH Mint Julep Mask
