inflammed tips

hi
has anyone had pus on their finger tips while on tane,
the first time i had it on the edge of my nail,which bursted easily....
but i recently got 1 on the tip of my finger which pained me like hell....havent slept in 2 days because of the pain.....i had a procedure done in the morning to remove the pus.....
i just hope its the last of its kind....makes me really shaky about taking tane

Errr... nope, can't say I've had any problems like that so far (day 22 now). But I do know that your skin gets a lot more sensitive, bleeds easily, gets damaged much more easily than usual when you're on 'tane. Likely that that's got something to do with it. Also if you have sharp thin nails that normally don't cut the skin there, they might be damaging the skin now and thus you get it infected really fast...? Could all be possible causes.

Maybe this is your way of getting the IB? You never know ofcourse... wink.gif

I've read here that some people are put on antibiotics (for various reasons) for a while during their course of Accutane with no adverse effects so that might be the way to go if the infections keep coming back? But I guess your doctor should know best.. smile.gif

I'm sure it'll pass at some point during your course, just like the IB's do, so keep at it and good luck! biggrin.gif

my doc said it was all about keeping ur tips moisturized......
well definitely gonna do dat now....
jus grateful for the fact i have no more pain...wooohoo....
its all my fault,shd have taken care....
anywayzz its all cool now
