I'm working on my Bachelor's degree in Science (Human Nutrition to be more specific) and I've decided that instead of becoming an RD (registered dietitian), I want pursue a professional degree in medicine. The thing is, I'm always going through ups and downs because of my skin, and when I'm really down (which is a lot of the time) I don't feel motivated to do anything.
Like if I could just get my skin under control, I'd have such a better outlook on my future and everything would be so much easier! Ugh. My grades have also been slipping, which is not good at all. Does anybody else feel this way?

Maybe I will study to be Naturopath. After I fix my skin.

Yeah I'm planning on getting my MD after I finish this university science degree.
My skin is the one thing that has never affected my grades. It did affect my univeristy social life but not my grades. Homework is something you work on alone usually in the comfort in your home and I used to spend a lot of time indoors so it helped more than hurt my grades.
Just think though, if you do this and you get your qualification you have soooo many limitless options in front of you. One, you will be educated on procedures, risks, benefits. Two, you will have the money for skin treatments AAAAND vacations, spas etc (all that help you relax and help your skin also).
You're working towards your future right? So think of the changes you can make for yourself then!!!!!!!! Think of how you feel now and just ask yourself do I want to feel this way five, ten years from now? Thats motivation enough for me to just WORK MY BUTT OFF.

I hear ya, I’m working on getting my bachelors of science; majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Biology.
I have always had really low self esteem and I was Home schooled my whole life so I’ve never had much of a social life : / plus having acne hasn't helped any
, but like Ell- said I also like to think of the future and how if I get my M.D. I will be able to afford better products and have a better understanding of treatments.
All I can say is hang in there and try not to let ppl or situations get you down

If you dont focus on your grades and be all you can be, one day you will regret it and you might not be able to get over that regret. Its hard to live with scars but harder to live with regret. Someday when you are much older you will realize that skin is not everything and wished you had given life your ALL.

in the future i hope to get a career in something involved wif medicine/science/natural medicines etc. I might look into being a naturopath but im not sure if the career opportunities are wide open and the universities here don't really have naturopath courses i think.. ill have 2 double check on that. also i am interested in pharmacy and medicine, as well as health sciences(nutrition).

Why not both? Become an RD, and then an MD (specifically, a dermatologist).
You have to get top grades to get to a top medical school so the sooner you get your act together, the better!
