Well, my acne is really growing out of hand, so here I go, back to the starting the regimen again.

I did a regimen similar to the CSR a few months back, and the leftside of my cheek was about 80% clear. The redmarks left were pain in the butt so I decided to quit BP and used Salicylic acid instead. That helped alot in fading the redmarks and prevent breakouts.

Then during the exam period, I broke out very bad. Drowning myself in alcohol after the exams didn't help either. I'm left with a cheek full of redmarks and consistently breaking out, so it's not nice.

My regimen is similar to dans and is only different in the products.

Products I'm using now:

Cleanser: Avene Eau Thermale Soapless Cleanser
Cream: Quinoderm 5% (best OTC acne cream I've used)
Moisturiser: Eucerin's Dry Skin Relief Face Cream w/ 5% Urea

I'll have ~ 3months of patience (it's summer and I've got nowhere to go ^^) for the regimen to take effect again. So I hope everything goes well. I'll update this as often as I can.

First Update:

The regimen was started yesterday @ night. I'm planning to apply once a day for the next 3 days or so (to make sure skin grows accustomed to it), then I'll move to full two times a day.

3rd day
Update #2

Not much difference from when I first started. The nodule on my right cheek went down a bit.

There will be a change of regimen. I'm going to Substitute the cleanser with the gel-based, avene eau thermal soapless cleanser. For the moisturising part I'm ditching emu oil/jojoba with Bio Oil and Neutrogena Visibly clear oil-free moisturiser.

good luck with the Regimen.
Remember, a big part of it is being super gentle to your skin, and using plenty of bp.
Let me know if you need any help!

1st Week Day 4

IPB Image

I've decided to add in a picture of my current progress. It's taken from a camera phone and the lighting's doing its magic so it doesn't look too bad. Trust me though, you don't want to see me in real life.

That's my right cheek. Left cheek is about the same. The spot circled in red, that's a hyperpigmentation I've been having for many months and still there to stay. The part circled in green, that's the nodule I mentioned a post back. My face is quite small so the redmarks are covering about 50% of my entire face.

I'm removing bio oil from my regimen. It left my skin smooth and all, but I want to keep everything to the bare minimum until I stop breaking out.

I'm going to use BP twice a day today and onwards.

Oh, few more zits on both sides today. Woopie.

Update:

1st Week Day 5

OK, few more small pimples on both cheek today. I checked myself against the mirror under the sun, and god the redmarks are literally taking over my face. I've been trying to stop myself thinking about it but it's difficult.

I really hope the breakout will end today, so I will have 2months to recover. My redmarks are still standing firm and showing absolutely no sign of disappearing.

2nd year of Uni will start soon...

/End of my whine.

Edit: Just got myself Eucerin's Dry Skin relief with 5% Urea. That will substitute the neutrogena moisturiser wink.gif

hang in there.
I know it's tough in the beginning when you are waiting for progress, but it is a gradual thing. ((hugs))
Keep on with the Reg, and I like your choice of new moisturizer. Lots of people love that one!

1st Week day 7

Good news, the nodule on my right cheek is dying out. I'm pretty sure it will leave a big, nasty redmark but I'm glad it's going smile.gif

Left cheek's been a zit galore. Nothing too serious though, just quite a few small pimples.

And I absolutely LOVED the Eucerin Moisturiser I'm using right now. £10 price tag was heavy, but it's all worth it.

I've been screwing up my sleeping schedules since May so I'll try to fix on that. Sleep early and get plenty of it.

Still looking optimistic.

Have you tried neosporine (polysporine in CDN) for your redmarks. You probably want to wait until the regime clears you up becuase it might interfer. But after a couple of months on the regime you should give it a try. Just rub in a small amount on your redmarks 1-2 a day and you will see improvements in a couple months or less. If you search neosporine on this site you will find lots of people who have had success with it.
PS- treat the girl you like like a princess and she won't even notice the redmarks, GUARANTEED smile.gif
Good Luck

I'd like to clear off my persistent breakout before treating the redmarks, because I don't like using too much products on my face. Thanks for the good wills anyway smile.gif

Week 2 Day 1

Today is freaking HOT!

Went to do some badminton, and did some workout in the gym. Been sweating like a pig so I have no idea on how it will affect my progress.

Words of advice: Never NEVER look at your in the mirror under flourescent lights, particularly after exercise.

The nodule is really dying out after all the sweat, BUT few extra zits (small) on both sides of the cheek.

Week 2 Day 4

The breakouts from last week are dying out. I'm getting few (2 or 3) small zits popping out on both cheeks but they are not a cause for concern.

I've been pretty active this week, I think the working outs are really helping with the red-marks - They are fading a little.

Optimistic as ever eusa_angel.gif

You're almost exactly at the same starting spot as me. It is terrible the first few weeks, I know. I'm lucky that I'm clear already. That makes me wonder how much I really needed to try when I was getting breakouts right and left from irritating cleansers. Jeez. It looks look you're doing better and I know you'll be MUCH better in the weeks to come.

Week 5 Day 3

I woke up this morning, looked into the mirror and thought, "This breakout finally stopped"

Then later into the evening, few pustules/papules just appeared from nowhere, on both sides of the cheeks.

Still in the breakout phase, and I don't think it will end anytime soon.

I'm also noticing my ACNE spreading to my whole face, instead of localising in the cheek region. Same with my body acne which is spreading to my arm.

Week 7 Day 1

Into the 7th week of the regimen. Got a new camera phone so I decided it's time to make a photo update.

Using nokia n70:

IPB Image

IPB Image

As you can see from the better photos, my skin is very fair for an asian but also prone to Post-Inflammatory Pigmentation.

The breakout is (after 3 weeks of relentless purge) finally showing some sign of stopping. I hope I'm not jinxing myself.

My worst nightmare came true though. The breakout started to spread from the centre cheek to the surrounded area. I noticed that if I slap on BT to the previous untreated area, that area turns slightly brownish.

P.S Sorry about the cropped photo, I would like to remain anonymous before I completely clear up. Hopefully I can give you a full snapshot in the next few upcoming months wink.gif

Week 7 Day 6

Week 8 (or 2months) are looming increasingly close. Time to make another update for my log confused.gif

Now. I think both of my cheeks are responding to BP. Not entirely sure. I still get breakouts.

The killer for the time being are 2 nodules. ONE BIG INFLAMED (Cap. locked to describe the size) on the right of my eyebrow, and another one creeping out of the middle of my nose (IT HURTS!).

Now, I didn't really bother using the regimen on my nose. I think it's time to take some action.

1 months to go. I might just get to the stage where I can convince my GP to give me some stronger stuff.

ACCUTANE.

Week 8 Day 2.

Still battling hard against my ACNE.

Just realised that the HUGE nodule I mentioned on my previous post was actually 3 fairly large pustules joined together. It's going down slowly.

The nodules on my nose didn't manage to surface (I drowned it with BP evil.gif )

Still breaking out though, nothing too serious. YET.

I've just ordered 3 tubes of dan's BP Gel yesterday. We shall see how things go moving from quinoderm to CSR Gel.
