Hey guys!

So I decided to go on accutane in august. Even though right now I am on taz, and its working a little, I really dont' want to have to worry about putting something on every night or the rest of my life, so I think accutane will knock it out for good. I could have gone on accutane in july, however, I am going to vegas for my 21st birthday in August, and don't really want to be all peely with chapped lips. Not to mention I live in alabama, (USA) which is wicked humid, and Vegas is dry heat (I'm originally from California, but I'm Military, so I move alot.) Anyone have any suggestions for someone with already dry skin and also any make-up suggestions? I use bare-minerals now but I think it might actually be making it worse...using a brush on your face can't be good-most likely irritating, any thoughts? Also did anyone breakout along their jawline from starting BC? I was on yasmin, but they switched me to ortho-tricyclene..

Hey man...Good luck when you start..I started yesterday and the only thing i can feel (side effect) is a growing tight pain in my back...I pulled a mussel in the same spot couple of weeks ago and the pain is comming back it might not be related to accuante....and since i love lemons i make a real stong lemon/water drink i heard it was also supposed to help....I dont even have severe acne the only reason i am on accutane is because nothing else worked for me...but i really hope it works for me...and you

Now for the dry skin part im stil waiting for a good product to use so hopefully someone will post a very good product

Accutane is working great for me so far so I think you will be really happy with it. I was off birth control for about a year and when I started back on, thats when my breakouts began. They were typically along my jawline too.

I had somewhat dry skin before starting my course and the dryness actually hasnt been that bad. I use Cetaphil cream and it really seems to keep my skin hydrated. The worse side effect for me has been dry, sore lips. I use Aquaphor, Dr. Dans Cortibalm and an rx from my doc.

Welcome to the forum! This place is great!

Well, the only place I am having major IB is on my jawline, which I never had before. Its from the accutane, I think. I was briefly on yasmin at the beginning of the month, but had a really weird emotional/hormonal rxn and had to stop it. I wonder if yasmin is the reason why my IB is on the jawline now.

On the plus side, at least its on the jawline and not somewhere more noticeable like the cheeks or the forehead!
