@STURZ10
30mg could be a low dose: it depends on your weight. I think around 0,3mg/kg is low dose.
I'm taking 20mg a day and my weight is around 60 kg, so I take like 0.33mg/kg a day.
I still don't have any real side effects by now: only dry and slightly chapped lips. My derm want me to bump up my dosage to 30mg/day: I will think about it, cuz my side effects now aren't really worth to mention.
But then, 30mg for me is like 0,5mg/kg and thats not really low dose anymore.

Day 21: 20mg (2x10mg)

Skin:
Got one new pus filled pore and one clogged pore: squeezed both of them. Both spots are now clear, flat and slightly red.
Otherwise my complexion is ok, but alot of stuff is coming out of my pores on and around my nose: if I slide your fnger over my nose you can feel those junk in the pores.

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

Day 22: 20mg (2x10mg)

Skin:
Unclogged 2 pores on my right cheek -> new red mark.
Unclogged another 2 pores on my left temple -> slightly red now.
Squeezed another bump between my upper lip and left side of my nose: a little yellow thing came out. -> slightly red now.

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

Day 23: 20mg (2x10mg)

Skin:
One spot on my left temple got inflamed so I squeezed it to get all the pus out. Got another 2 little bumps near my left ear: squeezed out some pus here too smile.gif
I know I squeeze too much, but I rather get the pus out than running around with it on my face.

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

Day 24: 20mg (2x10mg)

Skin:
Again: one spot under my left temple got inflamed so I squeezed it to get all the pus out. Otherwise face is still healing from all the squeezed spots and marks. confused.gif

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

Great work on keeping track of your progress.
Wow, I'm 230 lbs (aprox 110 kilos) and 20mgs is giving me side effects of definite chapped lips.
I NEED chapstick now, slightly and consistantly dry jaw area, nose and just barely on my T section.
The side effects are right where I want em.
There's definitely signs of improvement.
I have acrued new ones on my neck and back however.
Keeping hydrated is definitely a challenge espeacialy with the hot weather.
Dehydration makes me more prone to the deep pimples, the little Hulks as I like to call them.

Anyways, good work and good luck.

@MoeMentum
My weight is around 60-65kg, but the only side effects I get are dry and slightly chapped lips: but If I use my lipstick when I wake up and when I'm going to sleep, my lips aren't even a bit chapped. So I really consider taking 30mg/day now, but that isn't low dose anymore smile.gif.
Even my doc said I should try 30mg/day for at least 3 days, to see how I react to that dosage. I will think about it .
And yeah, it's damn important to drink alot, even more when you're on tane: easier said than done, I too have to drink alot more than I do now. confused.gif
But anyway, the stuff seems to work, I get way less spots than before accutane and I didn't had any IB so far. That's another reason for me to not try 30mg/day: maybe this dosage will trigger something bad. Who knows.

@ Aussie Boy #5555
Added your log on my first post. But If I change my dosage to 30mg/day, this won't be a low dose log anymore. tongue.gif

Day 25: 20mg (2x10mg)

Skin:
No new spots: just around and on my nose, dry pus are sticking out. You can feel it and only see it, when you're right in front of the mirror. Or in other words: only I can see them. But they are still annoying, cuz my whole face feels smooth except for my nose and the area around it.

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

i think trying the 30 mg would be a good idea. everyone worries about the IB but after that, things can only get better. and how cool, you started taking accutane just 1 day before me! hehe. i'll probably be on it for 5 months. what about you?

This is easily the most profound effect I've noticed so far. I'm drinking 2-3 glasses of water for every waking hour and it's still barely enough! I'm making so many more trips to the toilet too ... and as soon as my urine is anything but crystal clear I know it's time to drink some more water.

I can't imagine how you guys in the Northern Hemisphere are coping with 'tane while it's your Summer ... my hat is off to you!! tongue.gif

Starting today, I will take 30mg/day.
There is actually only one reason why I bump up my dosage: If you have read my log, you will know that I have some pus sticking out on and around my nose. This stuff seems to got stucked. Hope the 30mg/day will get that out.

@JLN
I just decided, that I will bump up my dosage to 30mg/day: starting today.
Wish me luck that I don't get any nasty side effects. confused.gif

@Aussie Boy #5555
I might living in germany, but I'm chinese: I don't have any major probs with the temp, even if it's around 28-30°C in my room. smile.gif
Just drink more and more to prevent dehydration.

Day 26: 30mg (1x10mg and 1x20mg)

Skin:
No new spots. But the situation on and around my nose is still the same. Otherwise, the red/brown marks seem to fade a little bit more: some are hardly visible now. eusa_dance.gif eusa_dance.gif eusa_dance.gif

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

Day 27: 30mg (1x10mg and 1x20mg)

Skin:
I did a very mild peeling yesterday: my nose and the area around is are really smooth right now. Let's see when the pus get back in the pores.
And no new spots.

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

Day 28: 30mg (1x10mg and 1x20mg)

Skin:
Got a bump on my left side on my nose: it's not really a bump, it's not even red. But it's a bit hard there.
And another thing: my face is NOT oily anymore!!! eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif
It's definitely because of the 30mg/day: on 20mg/day my oil on my face got reduced already, but it was still visible on my face the whole day. But right now, it' just gone. biggrin.gif
Otherwise no new active spots.

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

Day 30: 30mg (1x10mg and 1x20mg)

Skin:
Boys and girls, my face is looking really great today. Complexion is almost perfect. I got like no active spot or whitehead, the blackheads on my nose and around my nose are almost down to zero, my red/brown marks faded alot: there are currently only 2-3 noticeable ones, all other marks faded away after peeling twice on accutane now, and using zinc cream (Avene Cicalfate) 3x times a day on the spots.

Honestly: after I woke up today I couldn't believe myself how much my face suddenly improved. I checked my face twice, and I don't think I looked that good in the past 5 years.
I feel soooooooo good today. eusa_dance.gif eusa_dance.gif eusa_dance.gif

I really think that 30mg/day is best suited for me: I still got only dry lips and the oil on my face is completely gone. And all those blackheads seem to come out now, especially on and around my nose, where 20mg/day didn't do anything for that. Hope my face will only get better and better.

BTW: I still haven't experienced an initial break out. Is there still a chance for me to get it? Or am I safe now after a month?

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

Awesome, sounds like you have found a dosage that works for you.
I don't think you are too prone to any IB now with such a low jump in dosage.
Congrats, you have come into taking accutane with an intelligent approach and it is paying off.

Continued success.

@MoeMentum
I could say the same to you: seems like accutane is working fine for you too.
And I just felt the same way, after I read the last post from your log: damn I wish I would have taken accutane earlier. But then: better now than never. smile.gif
Keep it up man, acne is on it's way to hell. smile.gif

Day 31: 30mg (1x10mg and 1x20mg)

Skin:
No new acne and face is looking good. biggrin.gif
Just 2-3 slightly visible marks. Pores around and on my nose are almost clean.

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.

Damn: I visited my derm today, and he was amazed how good my face is looking right now. But he wants to decrease my dosage from 30mg/day to 30mg/week !!!
I could convince him to go for another month on 30mg/day. But then he really wanna drop me to 30mg/week.
What should I do now?

Day 34: 30mg (1x10mg and 1x20mg)

Skin:
Just like yesterday.

Side Effects:
Dry and slightly chapped lips.
