So im not much of a breakfast person, but i know its very very important! biggrin.gif

Question: What kind of Oatmeal should I buy? Or what should I look for on the ingrediants? no sugar..etc? Also since Im sure it tastes like crap what can I add to make it more yummy?

Question: Uuugghh Ive always hated eggs... BUT since they are a good source of protein, i may have to convince myself to love them! How should I cook them? And does anyone have any delicious Omeltte receipes?

Thanks to who replys!

Dont get oatmeal, (unless you like it) becuase it tastes like arse, just get organic porradge oats, big flakes, lowest refinement bla bla bla... As for what to put with it, apples are nice, (bramley's are good to cook with) skin them (eat the skin) then chop them, warm them in a pan with a bit of water and mush them until its like a paste, mix it with your porridge instead of sugar, maybe add a smidge of cinnamon too. Or just add dried fruit like raisins, dried cranberries etc.

Spanish omelletes are nice, fry some onion, (maybe add some bacon too) then add the whipped eggs to the pan, cook it, put it on a plate flat, put some soft cheese (garlic cheese is best) on top and some salad leaves roll it up like a swiss roll and walla.

For frying use butter or coconut oil.

Steel Cut oatmeal. Soak it overnight. It has the lowest glycemic index, and it's minimally processed. After you soak it, it'll be soft, so you don't even need to cook it.

I put dried and fresh fruit in the oatmeal. I like to put in cranberries, raisins, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries - whatever fruit I happen to have at the time. If you put enough fruit in, you don't even need to put in any sugar. Also, a touch of cinnamon or nutmeg makes it taste good too! I also put a little bit of soy milk on it after its cooked, makes it a little creamier.

They only break you out if you have a problem with them, like an allergy or sensitivity. Eggs are often categorized as dairy, but dairy is milk products and eggs obviously aren't. I have problems with milk products but I'm fine on eggs.

Eggs are very very different from milk
They're called dairy not because dairy refers to a characteristic of milk products but because it refers to the commercial establishments of farms and usually where there was milk there were eggs too
In my language dairy is caesario and it would be translated as farmy/farmwise

I always liked Bob's Red Mill Scottish Oatmeal, but I've given it up since it contains gluten. sad.gif

I LOVE eggs. I like mine lightly scrambed or poached. Veggie omlets are fantastic as well. I think I'm going to make one now! biggrin.gif

Oats are one of my favorite meals. The key is mixing them with milk. I also add Splenda Brown Sugar. For eggs, I add all sorts of veggies (onions, tomato, green, jalepeno..) I also add Indian spices to eggs like Mango Pickle.

Regular quaker Oatmeal or some fancy natural oats if you want.
1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 cup water, microwave for aprox 2 1/2 minutes
add some skim milk and raisons, and maybe some cinamin.

The best way to take eggs (if you are looking to take advantage of the protein intake) is to just get the egg whites in the 250 ml cartons, add aprox 1/2 cup skim milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder and mix.

You would think it would be gross or slimy but its not, believe me.
And it's soooo much easier than cooking the egg whites.
And no it's not dangerous.

Finish it off with 2 cups of water.

Fast and easy, and definintely nutritious.

A great meal.

your right its not dangerous, but it is definitely not good for you to eat raw egg whites (or yolks). raw egg whites contain a protein called adavin or avadin or something which binds to biotin (vit b7) and stops it from being absorbed by the body. biotin is essential for normal cell growth and for the energy you get from digesting food. cooking egg whites 'denatures' this protein and prevents it from holding onto the biotin (while making it digestable at the same time). besides, raw egg whites is a bodybuilding thing anyway.. why would a hottie like jen care about packing on maximum lean muscle mass? i imagine she just wants to be healthy, and fortunately is a smart enough chick to understand the importance of protein as part of a balanced diet.
