is it okary to take doxycycline while on accutane?

If you look up drug interactions you'll find that accutane and the tetracycline group don't mix. If you want to take an antibiotic going into your course there are others that don't have a bad interaction with it.

More importantly- why would you? Accutane is strong enough by itself.

my derm is out of town...and im goin to be off tane for like a week since my meds are over...i just developed this growth on my finger and this general practitioner gave me Zadorin,and i see doxycycline written right below it on the label.....the pain is blinding me

Didn't your doctor ask what other meds you're currently on? That's crazy. Call him back up and ask for a prescription for something different. There are a million different pain medications out there.

be very careful they say dont take anything when on accutane. my derm told me to stop everyting.

Good luck. I will be in the same boat i think that my pills run out right before i got to the derm for my next visit and with I-Pledge who knows what will happen.

i did tell him i was on roaccutane....
but he said its orite...infact i asked him twice the second time he was like if it wasnt i wouldnt have written it on ur prescription....
