Background: I have had persistent mild acne for the past two years now. It was mild in the sense that I only had a few but they were large cysts. So recently (about 2 mths ago) i went to see a derm.
She started me off with minomycin and it cleared up but not completely, so she decided to put me on accutane.
I was very reluctant to be put on it as i have heard of those dreaded side effects. I was SO scared!!!
But in the end i listened to my derm and began my first does of it just yesterday!
She has put me on 20mg x 2 a day and also taking erythromycin with it to help the "initial breakout".

So far...

DAY 1:
Nothing much yet except for a small pimple on the left cheek near my ear but rather small and doesn't worry me.

Will update soon..... i'm scared

Hey Shazzas... just started my treatment recently, as well. I started five days ago. Congrads on starting! I'm also pretty scared about it too! But excited at the same time. Everyone I"ve spoken to that's been through treatment has said t was worth it so I think we're doing the right thing.
I'm on 40mg too so we'll have to keep in touch about our progress. So far on day 5 i've started experiencing my first bit of dryness...nothing to freak out about just a bit of dry lips. Anyways, congrads again and keep in touch!
