I have a graduation party coming up this Saturday and my Mom gave me a lovely strapless dress for it. My back and chest looked terrible (yet somehow my face looks fine) and she said if I tanned it would go away. Never take advice from someone who's never had a pimple in her life I've learned. I did this today, and now it looks like there are even MORE spots on my chest and they're all a dark red. It looks like old healing pimples reappeared maybe, I'm not sure. Is there anything I can do? Or any hope that I can wear my strapless dress by Saturday? I was also wondering if I didn't lay out enough, but that could be completely illogical I guess to go out and tan more. Any help is VERY appreciated, thanks.
DESPERATELY NEEDING HELP . . .

Ugh. I remember being in high school and I broke out on my chest just before I went to my Jr. Prom. And I had a strapless dress! So stressful!
Okay, no more tanning because it could make it worse. I would either start Dan's regimen or go out and buy Clean and Clear Continuous Control Cleanser (which is what I use) and start dosing yourself with Benzoyl Peroxide. Don't scrub your skin especially since you have done recent sun damage (even if it's not a burn it's still sun damage). Start off slow if you're not used to using benzoyl peroxide so use it at night for now.
Drink a ton of water, eat really well (try to cut out dairy and salt), get lots of sleep, and in the meantime, go find a dress that hides your chest OR, better yet, just get into the mindset that even with the breakouts, you're still going to look hot at the party! If you go with that attitude nobody will notice or at least remember the breakouts on your chest.
Good luck and have fun!

This is what happened to me exactly for my grad dinner a couple of years ago
i had a lovely strapless dress, but back and chest full of red marks and pimples...luckily i had long hair, so i kind of combed my hair back to cover my back acne and marks, and for my chest marks, i used foundation to cover it up
i mean, the result was not perfect there was still a bit of colour showing through the foundation, but it was better than obvious red marks...

this is gonna sound funny but also dont look at it at all and keep it covered till then. i swear the more i look at my chest and back the worse it gets. it must be because of the stress i dont know. just do the bp thing, have a shawl or back up dress, and dont look at it till the day of the party.
