it's a strict diet, and almost impossible to follow. you might have the same effect if you simply took salmon capsules (vs. salmon), which turn out much less expensive than salmon filets 5 times a week. The point he was trying to make is that if you consume the salmon itself then you'll be less tempted to consume his marked "negative" foods.
I personally found that exercise and fractions of his diet improved my skin overall, but adhering to such limitations isn't possible as a teenager in high school.
Of course, his regimen also calls for a BARRADE of topicals that you must take into account...various acids and washes and VERY time consuming procedures which are EXPENSIVE and exceedingly difficult to obtain. I never opted to experiment with the topicals.
His book isn't worth the read unles you want an explanation for how the veggies and essential fatty acids are improving your skin. He devotes far too many pages to patient success stories, detailed explanations, his own background, YOGA (which cannot be learned from a damn book) and the ridiculous menu options.
The message is clear---eat your damn leafy veggies. LOTS of them. Load on spinach, kale, romaine lettuce, cilantro, etc, and make a BIG salad that you can scoop from periodically when you get hungry...and believe me, you WILL be hungry when you're eating what he tells you. Dress it with Olive Oil and lemon juice. Eat lots of tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados, carrots, blueberries, GRAPES and CHERRIES, brazil nuts, almonds, water, green tea, and the likes.
Sorry this post was so long...and I'm not even a woman NOR am I over the age of 20. But this has been my experience.
