Check out some of the close up shots:

Laurance Fishburne

Edward James Olmos

(I tried to find more of other actors, but the pictures were either too far away , too fuzzy or smothered with makeup tongue.gif)

Now, if these guys can be successful film/TV stars with beautiful wifes and so on - even though they have scarring, why can't I? :-s

How can I say, a few scars are holding me back from what I want to do in life?

Fishburne looks badass with or without scars, he's the kind of "ill fucking tear u in 2 if u look at me funny" guy. olmos he don't look so mean but eh... whatever

edit: in fact scarring seems to magnify fishburne's badassness! no wonder he doesn't try to treat it!

Mel Gibson ( see Payback)has pretty noticible scarring around his jawline and neck

Mel Gibson's scars arent from acne though. Rent the movie "Man without a face." Its a true story based on Mel Gibsons life. Very good and movie and unbelievable story of what Gibson had to overcome.

Gave hope to me

The man without a face? You are joking I hope. Gibson's scars are from acne.

I hate to rain on everyone's parade but I think a lot of you guys are wrong.  Most of these actors have had their scars worked on.  Bill Murray had scars in is SNL days, but has none now.  He plays celebrity golf tournaments and doesn't wear makeup to those gigs and he DOES NOT have scars.

Laurence Fishburne's scars have improved tremendously over the years.  His used to be really bad.  He had pits all over his face and especially on his cheeks.  While he still has some scars, they aren't anything like they were.

James Woods' skin is totally clear right now, Pitts' too.

Olmos doesn't look like he's ever had work done, so I guess if it doesn't bother him, it doesn't bother me. smile.gif

**Iracne, I agree 100%.  Ray Liotta's scars seemed to have improved dramatically...he looks scar free.

I hate to disagree but every example you cited is incorrect. I have seen all of the above actors recently in a number of films and thier acne scarring ( especially Bill Murray's)is as pronouced as ever.

i went to the movies last night and saw The Last Samurai (good movie) and i noticed many of the actors had acne scars...Cruise had a couple shallow rolling scars (very hard to notice)

Tom Cruise has had perfect skin ever since he was a child. I noticed he had 1 small pimple on his chin in Risky Business but i doubt he has any scars of any sort.

I think you're mistaking the lighting of the outdoors and then thinking people have scarring.

You go watch a movie like Braveheart where everyone is dirty and outside with little makeup. Any imperfection is like magnified 10X. When i was 18 i got a hand mirror and viewed what i looked like out side on a cloudy day. I was horrified. I swore i would never do it again.

It is amazing what different lighting does. Especially bar lights, everyone looks like they have perfect skin. But them damn florescent lights are a killer. and so are bright sunny days, they really show scars.

It's all about ambient light. shine a torch on your face in a darkened room and you see that the scars will look much worse. Put a bight room light on (preferably with an undershade) and try it then. I bet that the scars won't look half as bad.

Even my shallow surface scarring looks awful under certain lights. ](*,)

I tend to avoid any situation where a strong light source is shining on me, and stick to well lit or dim areas. smile.gif

^ I've not had too much trouble with them actually. (I've just started driving lessons by the way.) I find directly overhead lightbulbs the worst. :-k

You know, I don't think my scarring looks as bad in the car as it does under fluorescents. But that's just me, lol.

hmm when i saw LOTR RotK i noticed that Frodo (Elijah Wood) has a few acne scars. Sounds crazy? sorta but i'm damn sure my eyes did not decieve me or anything, they show so many closeup face shots in the movie that i could literally count Wood's pores. Wood's scarring is very minimal and the rest of his skin does look baby smooth. You can also see that Merry (Dominic Magahin) has a rather big, but not pitted scar on his forehead you can see it at:

i didnt notice the scar in the movie at all though

oh yea rear view mirrors of cars really suck, i swear i notice shit i've never seen b4 in them.

Can anyone post some pictures of celebrities with acne? I have heard much of people like Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears having acne, are there pictures available? Thanks!

I have only noticed an odd bump or two on Jessica's chin on TV but as for Britney there are a lot of pics. This may sound weird, but I'm glad that she goes out without makeup because looking at these pics I saw yesterday her acne is just about the same as mine, red marks and spots to the left and right of her chin (but not directly on the chin). It makes me feel more confident to go makeup free. Although she does get it near her hairline/forehead area also which I don't. It must be frustrating for her, I would hate it if people were taking pics of me without makeup. Tough to be in the spotlight and battling acne like that.

Here's one of Britney:

I saw one of Cameron Diaz the other day, will post it if I find it.

They both still look beautiful. Oddly, it makes me feel better to see that gorgeous girls like that struggle with acne too.
