does tretinoin/retin-a help with redmarks/acne scars?

well tretionoin, which is what I think they prescribe does work. its just like glycolic acid, although its better. it exfoliates the skin very rapidly. if you r willing to just saty indoors the whold summer, u could prob. get rid of the marks by then. although you could wear sunscreen, the only 100% way not to make it worse is to stay out the sun. OR you could just wear on of those sombreros.


Retin-A is not an exfoliant..do some research biggrin.gif


Tretinoin (aka retinoic acid) does get rid of skin faster. Here are some sources from educational sites:

Perhaps the confusion lies in the wording. Tretinoin causes the skin to shed at an increased rate. Exfoliating removes the skin the tretinoin sheds. Although these terms have different meanings, they coincide. You can't have one without the other so they're the same.
