I'm young adolescent, convinced that if these two are not the cause of my acne, they multiply it or make it worse...

I smoke the herb regularly and drink weekly

It took me a long time to realize this probably was in the top 3 reasons I have moderate acne... while friends did the same and didnt get acne

Why is this so and.... suggestions?

I'm going to europe soon, it's gonna suck to break out there when I drink... but I can not smoke for a month if it helps....

would a detox or liverflush or something help out? I don't even know what these are really....

any insight is appreciated

i smoked weed heavely for like 8 or 9 years (every day). Its was hard for me to stop(wasnt that long ago, and im still suffering fron insomnia b/c of it). I noticed my skin got better(im pretty much clear for a while now) but my over all appearence got better. I also quit cigs wacko.gif . i think smoking and drugs affects your skin as a whole and its better not to do it at all. But its hard as hell to quit.

As for the liver flush/ detox i dont know. I heard of peoples acne clearing up by doing this but you have to do it a bunch of times. Its worth a try.. you can only get healtier. i stared to eat more fruits and stuff that r supposed to help detox your body and i'm feeling great. i drink lot of water with some lemon juice in it i think thats supposed to work really good for cleaning out your body. I exercise alot now. I stoped drinking caffine everday, eat less sugar, less dairy. It helped me. Never tried a liver flush though.

My friends also had clear skin and smoked pot regularly amongst other things...bastards.. i dont know y. evil.gif

dont know if that helps.

I see the alcohol effect on me, but the weed has no correlation. I smoke everyday 5 or 6 times back at school and I think I'm better off when I do.

Has anybody had experience with a vaporizer (like the Volcano) and noticed that their breakouts reduced after they gave up smoking pot the conventional way (pipe, bong, hitter box, etc.)? Do you think vaporizing would eliminate breakouts caused by smoking because you're only inhaling the active chemicals (THC), and not all the carcinogenic crap?

well alcohol dehydrates you and dries out your skin making it look redder. It also screws up your liver which is one thing you need yo should look after if you want good skin

Alcohol kills my skin. I break out every time I drink.

Not sure about weed, but considering I have a lot of allergies (pollen, mold, dust) I can see it making a difference. My chronic cough has cleared up since I stopped.

weed --> acne
drinking --> acne

avoid weed altogether. weed, coke, x, meth, heroin, and the like will destroy your skin. drugs are bad.

if you must drink, drink lots of water when you do so. i'm positive dehydration from alcohol worsens breakouts. also, eat a banana (potassium) and drink a slimfast, ensure, powerdrink, etc. (nutrients) because alcohol makes you lose a lot of vitamins and minerals. to help your liver function, take milkthistle (found at GNC, Vitamin Shoppe). good liver --> fewer skin problems

the smoke from smoking can irritate your skin, but alcohol??? Id be more worried about the adverse affects this is having on your internal system, then your skin.

That would definately help. Plus those things are sick so you should take any reason you can find to get one. lt puts alot less toxins into your body. I would only smoke once in a while out of the volcano and I would never break out. Dude, buy it .. then go see NIN cuz its a ridiculous show.

Yeah I smoked a Volcano once, didnt have much acne problems back then but what I noticed was the high was a lot more energetic and clear. Pretty intense but different. They're spendy.

Alcohol only makes me break out if I do it more than 2 days in a row, or I don't drink enough fluids.
That's it.

Speaking of that, my cravings kicking in. dammit.

Maybe bc u are putting ur body through hell .. ever think about how bad drinking and weed is for your health? Wanna no what would help .. here si the key .. stop drinking and smoking! it really isnt hard .. All that stuff does is make you feel stupid anyways. I honestly dont see the point in getting high and getting drunk.

Alcohol destroys your insides ...

Weed/Smoking -- Makes you look 45 when ur really 35 .. not to mention both those things shorten your life span .. u wanna live till ur 90 or 70?

If you want to drink alcohol, make sure you stay plenty hydrated with water. Eating a healthy diet/plenty of fat before drinking will minimize damage.

Weed is really not as bad as tobacco smoke in terms of carcinogens and toxins, and most of you nonsmokers forget the fact that weed smokers smoke a fraction of what cigarette smokers smoke. A couple bowls in the pipe is less plant matter then one cigarette, and most (addicted) cigarette smokers smoke a lot more then one cigarette a day. Even if someone smokes A LOT of weed, they're probably doing somewhere between an 8th and a quarter ounce a day, and that's still way less smoke inhaled then what a cigarette smoker gets in a day. But most peopple don't smoke that much - it's expensive. This is coming from research and experience - I used to be smoke both and smoke weed once in awhile now.

Gives you a nicotine buzz, makes you think a little more clear (scientific evidence behind this), gives ritual into your life (smoke breaks at work), this is what it can do for you when you're not addicted. When you're addicted it becomes a stress management tool, a reward for doing your work, a habit that you swear you'll stop after the next pack, and a burden on your wallet... That's how it was for me anyway.
