im 15 years old and i have pretty bad acne. i am currently taking 100mg of minocycline and that seems to be working but if i foget to take one pill i breakout immediately. my derm recommended accutane. i am going to hate having to put on sunscreen and chapstick on every day but i guess its worth it. one other thing. i am going to be working out alot this summer. Does anyone know if joint pain is a really common side effect because i dont want to have aches the whole summer. I dont know if I should take accutane. any advice??

I only had a few joint pains. I have been on accutane for 2.5 weeks now and so far I have been having little side affects
, I hope it stays like that. On saturday I have to go and get my blood work done again and then in a week go back to the derm.
It is the best thing I ever started taking, I have been on everything there is and i am only 16. I have what you would call mild but persistent acne.
Good luck and just put lots and lots of sunscreen on.

Hi Kevin!
Welcome to the forum!
I am on day 18 and I only have had one occurance of joint pains. It really just depends on your body. When I did get the pains, I took 2 advil and the pain was go in 30 minutes!
Good luck! And keep us updated!
