Good Grief.....I'm post-accutane for 3 months now and my skin's pretty clear (knocks on wood) and I'm hitting the gym....

my trainer now advised me to take whey protein as a supplement

AND THE GREAT QUESTION IS....

Could whey protein cause acne??? I'm so freakin paranoid after hearing certain rumors on breakouts connected with protein shakes. I HATE TO HAVE ANOTHER BREAKOUT AFTER 6 months of accutane!!!!!

It has not affected my acne in any way in the past 2 years. I've used a few brands. Right now I'm using Optimum Nutrition.

And protein by itself won't do it.

Get plenty of recovery time too.

The only way to know is to try whey and find out. If it does there are alternatives like hemp (like above poster pointed out) or egg protein powders. The only real difference is cost since whey is dirt cheap.

lol.....I think what promotes the acne would be the milk drank with the whey.....

A friend of mine drinks it with water....and seems to have no problem with it

Whey hasn't given me acne problems in the 2 years I've been drinking it.
I actually think it helps my skin because I start breaking out when I stop drinking it.

I drink whey with water all day, I only drink it with milk before I go to bed.
Optimum Gold taste good in water, even better in milk.

I think whey has helped me from breaking out, it seems since I've started drinking it I've stopped breaking out, once I stop I break out again.
