I LOVE nights out clubbing with my mates, I live for the weekend..and alcohol :P. I'm into keeping fit so when I'm bothered I go over the gym... Cinema, Computer Games and Couch Potatoe-ing are some of my pass times :P other than that I'm a pretty normal guy.

I was in the health shop the other day and came across Agnus Castus. It is supposed to balance out the hormones in your body which would help if one had hormonal acne. Does it only balance out Oestrogen or Testosterone aswell?

Would it be useful for guys aswell as the ladies?

Lee.

I know someone who has taken this and found it to be very helpful (although she is a gal). She absolutely raved about it. However, I think that she suffered from a true hormonal imbalance - i.e. she got tested and the test results showed an imbalance. My understanding is that not all acne sufferers have a hormonal imbalance in that sense, instead they have an abnormal reaction to normal levels of testosterone. I have been tested and my results came back normal. The nutritionist I was seeing at the time said that because of this he did not think agnus castus would help.

Rubber sheep: I am thinking about trying maca for my acne. Could you keep an update of with your progress. Also, how much maca are you taking?

Taking a 2tsp. a day. Can't say for sure whether it's had any effect on acne, but my libido (to state it lightly) has been revitalized.

It's not really a brand, I just bought it in bulk at a food co-op. It's straight powder.

To be honest I'm doing so many things that it'd be hard to attribute improvement to just maca.

I got it because I heard it balances hormones and its a superfood full of vitamins and minerals, but I didn't really expect it to be clearing me up. If you wanna try some real potent shit, get spirulina powder and take a few heaping tablespoons of that a day. That I can say for a fact has been helping me because I've been taking it for awhile and ever since I added it I only get the painful sore pimples if I really fuck up on diet (with dairy, gluten, or refined sugar). Spirulina is an algae that contains heavy amounts of beta carotene, GLA, chlorophyll, a range of minerals, high quality protein (1tbsp. spirulina = 1oz. beef), etc etc etc. Either way, I'm already seeing a better sex drive so that's good cuz mine sort of disappeared after I really cut down on meats and dairy.
