Well my dermatologist just gave me the prescription yesterday for my second treatment of accutane. The first one went very well with the only side effects being the dry skin and really dry lips. My face was really clear for about 4-5 months after the first treatment but recently started breaking out a little bit. Since my dermatologist knew I had no problems with taking the drug the first time, he was alright with me taking a second go around. I just want the remaining acne to go away forever and I think with a second treatment it will do just that hopefully. Im starting out on just one pill a day. Yesterday was my first day taking it so I'll keep u guys updated. I have a few pics in my album. Have a great day.

i just looked at your pictures and it's impossible to say you'll clear up for good this time, but i reckon you'll be even clearer than last time and it'll stay clear for a lot lot longer.
all the best of luck. be sure to post how the initial breakout is if you get one this time!

Day 4
Well nothing really new to report, although the skin around my nose is getting a little bit drier. Lips arent dry at all....yet. I've been drinking so much water these past few days trying to prevent the dryness as long as possible. How much water do u guys drink while on accutane? I think my first go around I didnt drink nearly enough and it really brought out the dry skin. Well I'll be back later. Peace

Day 5
Damn my skin is starting to get soooo dry. To make matters worse, I had to shave today and let me tell you how fun that was....The dryness only means that the medicine is working so I'm not too worried about it, just putting on tons of lotion. Hopefully my face gets pretty clear in a couple months before I go off to college. How long did it take you guys to see some significant results? I cant remember when I started to see mine the first time I was on accutane. Peace

Day 6
Drinking plenty of water trying to prevent that dry skin as much as possible. I cant believe its almost been a week, the time has flown by which I guess is a good thing. A couple new pimples have popped up on the right side of my jaw and one on my forehead, but the one on my forehead ended up popping earlier tonight without me even messing with it at all. I dont normally mess with any new pimples anyway but that one went away really fast and it has to be due to the accutane. My lips are still doing good so far but I'm tired and need some sleep so Ill talk to you guys later. Peace

Hey there! Just an FYI Neosporin just came out with a new chap stick. It doesn't have the most desirable flavor (I prefer the fruity ones) but it really works for the dry lips. They had it on sale at our local grocery store and it came with a little blue carabiner so you can attach it to a key chain or your belt loops.

Day 8
Ahh my skin is so dry now, especially around my chin. I put lotion on but it takes forever to rub in and take all the dryness away. My lips arent bad tho, just using the chapstick daily. What kind of moisturizer do you guys use? Im using Neutrogena right now and I guess its alright but I have to reapply it a few times a day. Well Im out for now....peace
