going there in the interest of identifying possible food sensitivites i think i have (wheat, dairy, tree nuts) and possibly have them treated. so yeah.

EDIT: Alright, I had my appointment yesterday. For those that are interested I'll give a brief idea of what it was like. I basically told her my history, said that I believe my acne is caused in part due to food allergies and I had suspicions of what foods were bad for me, and that liver function and digestive health probably played a role. We figured out what foods were definitely problems (spicey foods, gluten, MSG, whey, aspartame, refined cane and date sugar but NOT maple sugar or honey, eggplant and peppers [but not tomatoes or potatoes, weird) and what foods would be really good for me (dandelion greens, parsley, cucumbers, celery, basil, shiitake mushrooms, sprouted legumes). Except the thing was I didn't tell her what I thought I was having problems with, she basically told me and was on point on most everything I had suspicions were causing breakouts (I knew dairy was playing some kind of role, and either wheat or gluten but I wasn't sure which, didn't know spicy foods were causing a problem though and I do like my curry). She also outlined a diet that I was already gearing towards (after researching for months), which would be something like lots of leafy greens, some fruits and vegetables, fish and spirulina for protein, and sprouted beans and legumes as well as the things I'm already taking. Basically I could have saved months of researching on the internet seeing her over one day but then I wouldn't know the basis behind why all of this stuff works! We also did an accupuncture treatment to help with digestion, emotional things and acne. She stuck in maybe 10-15 needles and then I lied there and relaxed and lightly meditated, I'd feel some tingling on the needles every 30 seconds. Pretty unique type experience.

Anyways, insurance doesn't cover this and I had to pay right out of the pocket but with that said this was a million times better of an experience then seeing a dermatologist, who basically talked really fast for 20 minutes about avoiding the sun at all costs, denied any argument that diet and acne are related, and at the end of the appointment asked me what I wanted prescribed. It's alot better paying to see someone that actually listens and works with you and sees you for 3x the time instead of that shit with the derm.....

I went to a Natu-Doc for the last year. I am still going for Accupuncture but all of the herbs, diet change as well as suggestions never worked for my acne. (if that is what you are doing it for)?

I still have two herbs called Margartia Complexion and Free and Easy Wanderer but they didn't do a thing for my skin. I had accupuncture done all over my face and the only thing it did was make my face bleed and left red marks. I do love the accupuncture just not for pimples.

I would suggest taking a small recorder to tape everything they say since it can be info overload. Good Luck!

Can you ask if there is any type of home massage/accupuncture that one can do to help with acne/oily skin? I once read that you can stimulate the meridians using a dry brush technique but I forgot what it entailed. thanks!

Dry brushing usually entails lymph cleansing I believe.

I already left for the appointment before I saw your post tho, sorry!
