For me, eating certain foods was a direct cause of Acne. But in this post, I want to focus on milk and dairy products.

I know Proactiv.com says food won't cause Acne. And this site pretty much says that too, more or less.

But I wanted you guys to see what happens if you limit your daily intake of dairy.

Throughout high school, the only thing we could drink was Milk in the cafeteria. It was included in lunch, and cheaper than bottled water. I had so many pimples then.

Now, I avoid almost all kinds of dairy, and I miss it tremendously. But my skin has cleared up dramatically (but still affecting me emotionally).

People say chocolate and pizza doesn't give you more pimples/acne... but how come it still happens?

I wish I had the link to show (at work now), but take this in consideration:


1. A cheese pizza has approximately 1 gallon of milk because that's what it takes to make a pound.

That's basically 2 glasses of milk for every slice.


2. Chocolate doesn't give you pimples... the milk inside milk chocolate aggravates it. Dark chocolate with no sugar is fine.

But almost every food we have here contains milk... even chowders, frappacinos, coffee, pizza, omlettes, hamburgers (with the cheese), etc.

What I do now is get rid of ALL the cheese/milk in my diet, and drink say, orange juice with Calcium instead.



Try this, and let me know if it helps you. It should take 2 weeks, and you'll definitely see a difference. If not, then at least you tried.

this is more diet related than anything to do with CSR Regimen so i reckon ul get more response in that forum.

I think of all the foods posited to have an impact on acne breakouts, this is one that actually has a least a little evidence to back it up. Dairy can be bad because of the hormones, but I have also read that there is a high level of iodine in cow's milk (from iodized salt licks). High levels of iodine have also been linked to acne flares (so avoiding high iodine foods is also a good idea).

Dairy has a good amount of evidence to back up why it could be a problem: Nonorganic dairy is pumped with hormones. Like you just said, it can be high in iodine. It's also been argued that the homogenization process turns the fats rancid. Dairy has casein protein, same thing used to make Elmer's Glue, and some people have problems with that. It also has lactose which some people can't tolerate. Because of pasteurization, dairy can be very hard to digest for some. Lactaste, the enzyme required to digest lactose, is killed during the pasteurization process - vitamin A and D are also harmed and as a result, dairy has to be fortified with those. Dairy in it's raw, natural state (grass fed organic) isn't bad but what we've done to it is.

On that note though, there' also evidence to back up why wheat could be a problem. For one, it's in EVERYTHING and cultures that traditionally consume way too much of one type of food grow more and more allergic to it: the most common allergy foods in America are soy, dairy, wheat, eggs, and some others I really can't remember right now. Anyways, these things are in soo many processed foods in one way or another. Corn is another example of something that's in EVERYTHING processed, whether its corn syrup, corn flour, corn starch, you get my point....... Anyways back to the wheat, it can be hard to digest if you have a problem with gluten, if it's unsprouted the phytic acid prevents important minerals like zinc from being absorbed, it's a common allergen and if you eat an allergic food you will cause inflammation (the building block that starts off the process to create acne or a wide plethora of other problems) much like if you eat a lot of sugar, etc. etc. etc. When wheat is stripped of it's nutrients and turned into white flour, it will spark blood sugar just like a Coke would, which means more insulin to bring levels back to normal and in turn more IGF-1, a hormone which controls the oiliness of your skin and the clogged pores factor as well. (On a side note, dairy directly has IGF-1 from the coews milk in it.) A cheese pizza could cause problems if someone has no problems with dairy, in regards to that person instead having problems with wheat. Personally I've only come to terms with this recently but I think I've come across something big for myself as far as prevention.

Yes, there is Iodine in milk.. you're completely right. I didn't mention that. Iodine and sodium, they are known to cause flare ups.

I've also heard of the wheat problem too, and processed carbs, even rice. I don't know.. but I'm just saying, try 2 weeks of drinking milk everyday and eating cheese... and take a picture.

Then, remove all diary from your diet for 2 weeks, then take a picture.

If all else fails, take broccoli pills.
