Recently I've heard alot about how for those whos acne is down to hormones giving up dairy can be good. If you think about it it makes sense. Cows get pumped full of hormones to make them produce milk- then we drink the milk and take in extra hormones!
Anyone tried it? x

i do agree on the fact that dairy has extra hormones and contributes to acne. I want to change to organic milk where the cows arent pumped with extra anything, but its a bit more expenisve and im not sure if it tastes any different. but all in all, we need dairy for our bones and also the calcium is needed for other vital functions with blood as well and i wudnt opt for taking calcium supplements if i was to eliminate dairy(which wont happen lol).

i drink soy milk too. the one that my mom buys doesn't have any "soy" taste in it - tastes good actually
unfortunately, it didn't really help my acne. try it though - it might help you

I tried it and it didn't help me, but it is probably worth a try to see if it helps you.

For me personally, giving up dairy has SAVED my skin.
I mean that literally because I was suffering from such bad acne before. I would wake up with a layer of oil on my face etc etc. NOTHING worked, topicals only covered up the problem and mind you they didnt do such a good job.
I cut out dairy among LOWERING, not completely eliminating but reducing carbs such as pasta, breads.
My skin cleared up COMPLETELY and when I stick to it get not one blemish, it was soooo odd not having even one blemish for months.
BUT! I had pizza 2 days ago and chocolate cake and I now have 2 new cycts on my face. Also I woke up with a greasy face. Damnit.
For yearsI dreamed, hoped and searched for a secret treasure of a topical to clear my face. I finally found the secret and what do you know it was simple dairy!
So yes, try it!
(Also when you try something like that its a good idea to cut out fast food junk and sugary desserts and soda, those may be having an affect on your skin as well. So if you just cut out dairy and keep eating the other junk you may think there is no difference)

Unfortunately, orgnaic or not dairy still contains things we want to avoid like IGF-1 (the hormone which affects oil production / pore clogging). There are also other things... From all the research I've done I now think the ONLY milk that anyone should drink is raw organic grass-fed. It could in theory help even people with acne because it has natural vitamin A and D, CLA (weight loss for the fatties!), probiotic bacteria, etc. Milk is a healthy beverage - when it's made right!
By the way, milk is NOT the only source of calcium.

Yeah, but I don't want my Dad to have to buy something extra. Also, I won't know if it works because I'm on the CSR. I do get back acne, but it's not that bad so I don't know if it'd change by just doing that.

I wouldnt stop having milk. I personally just have it on my cereal once a day. Try and cut down on cheese, yogurt and ice cream.

What about yogurt. The lower levels of casein and lactose should make it a better food for the skin

I used to have 4-5 servings a day and my breakouts were really bad. I still have no clue if that's the cause.
