Would it be okay to get 100% aloe vera gel (like from Wal Mart or something) and just... eat it?

the gel that u usually buy from stores that says 100% aloe is for topical application.. not for eating or consuming. Headturner is correct, you buy aloe vera juice.... found mostly at health food stores or even your local pharmacy/drug store and sometimes u might find it at a supermarket. better yet, u can buy the fresh plant and peel off its green leaf and eat the gel inside it. ive tried it before and it is pretty tasteless.. except NEVER try it with the peel on lol it tastes soo bitter and disgusting. u can blend the gel to make it easier to consume with fruit juice etc. though not something acidic.

good luck ! biggrin.gif

What are the benefits of eating aloe vera? I've never heard of doing that before.

aloe vera aids heaps with the digestion proces and helps in cleansing out your digestive tract. It also contains vital enzymes and antioxidants i believe to help build and support healthy cells. It helps with your overall health and wellbeing, along with an anti-inflammatory effect as well as promoting healing, especially when applied topically to the skin. I think aloe vera is more benefical upon acne if applied topically to the affected areas.
