haha i dread the extractions sad.gif its not bad for you because you dont have about 50 on each side of a cheek neutral.gif, also, ahh too much peeling! biggrin.gif

I love extractions! (yeah, I know I am weird....) I always think of them as killing future pimples before they get a chance to develop - or that they will help an existing pimple heal faster. I really only go in for extractions betwen facials if the spots are painful or if they are stubborn clogged pores (which sometimes camp out in my skin for months...). Its better than the damage I would do poking at them! smile.gif

So you are peeling a lot??

Yeah, I am peeling a lot. That's why Jill told me to still use the Glycolic Serum every other day, and also why she added the Hydrating Emulsion in my regimen. Jill also told me the reason why my red marks and redness never seem to improve is because I keep on getting constant breakouts and that is preventing the red marks and redness to go away. So acne clear first, then redness and red marks go away eusa_doh.gif

You're lucky to live so close. I wish they'd hurry up and expand to other cities. tongue.gif Good thing I'll be moving to San Francisco this fall so I don't have to wait an hour to get there. Yay!

Yeah, I'm really fortunate to live this close to the clinic! Are you moving to SF for a specific reason?

Nope, if they are done by someone qualified they shouldn't. If you try to do them yourself, they might.

Skin is doing a little better now. The smile line zit is just a flat red mark now, hopefully it will fade soon. At least I can cover it up better - I don't mind a few red marks, as long as makeup covers them ok! smile.gif

The chin spot is still there (haven't gone in to get it re-extracted yet), but it does seem to be gradually shrinking and the dark color has faded a bit. I am going to wait on this one and see if it will just go away on its own. Its small enough that I can't fully justify going into the clinic for an extraction (I want to reserve that for times I REALLY need it!!!) My next appt is 3 wks from today, so if its not totally gone I can still have them look at it then. Other than that, not much else going on. I had a couple of clogged pores pop up, but it looks like they aren't going to develop into much of anything and seem to be healing up now.

I have decided to tweak my regimen a bit - every 3rd night I am using a light layer of 5% glycolic under my derm a gel. I feel like I could be getting more exfoliation that I currently am getting. My skin is very adapted to the derm a gel now, but I can't seem to bump up to the Exfol-A. So, I am thinking that the low strength glycolic might help my products penetrate better and help with exfoliation. If I don't get any irritation after a few weeks, I will probably bump it up to every other night.

Things are about the same. Chin spot is still there, but it seems to be slowly improving (or maybe I'm just imagining things...). I've been spot treating it with mandelic, which may be helping.

I am going to try using the 5% glycolic under the derm a gel again tonight. I did that a couple of days ago, and didn't get any irritation or excessive peeling the next day, so I think I am going to use it every 3rd night for awhile and see how it goes.

Well, mine's going away now (its in that dry, flaky, red spot stage now) - hopefully yours will go away soon too! smile.gif The chin is the one area that I still get the occasional inflamed pimple.

Well, maybe I should go reply to yours so we are even. smile.gif

May as well do a skin update as long as I am here! I am basically clear at the moment. The chin spot that wouldn't die is finally just a flat, slightly flaky spot. I was really bad over the weekend and tried to extract it myself - twice actually. I don't know if I got the core out, It was flaky and red for a few days afterwards, but things are looking better now. I think that I got the inflamed acne this month because of having ALOT of stress at work right now. Hopefully, the worst of it will be over in another month or so. I've been getting sick more often too.

Nothing new in my regimen, except that I now apply a 5% glycolic serum under my derm a gel two nights a week. I wanted a bit more exfoliation and am hoping to adapt my skin to the glycolic again so I can use it a little more often. The body folliculitis comes and goes. My chest is pretty clear right now, but I have a little bit of a break out on my upper back/shoulder area. Its not as bad as it used to be though.

Yeah, I know I normally don't do that!

Sorry to hear that you are stressed at work too. It really does a number on your health, doesn't it?
