Wow I cannot debate with such a powerful argument as calling me names, saying maybe I have a hormonal imbalance, asking if I took some classes that has nothing to do with my questions, and insinuating I should not even talk about the subject cause I only went to Mexico and Europe, and saying something about your gay/bi friends talking about hormones. You plain old got me! smile.gif

I think you need to learn about nutrition, culture and geography of the region. Showing you a any pic of woman won't prove anything anyway. Plus, like Bloke said, muslim women are rarely photographed. Like I also stated, I DID NOT see any men with good teeth.

Where do you live? I can look up a good psychotherapist for you. Thanks.

Like I said, I LIVED IN CENTRAL ASIA FOR 12 YEARS! I've seen these people myself.. not Hunza, but close enough regions. Until you go there yourself and disprove me, Im gonna keep agreeing with Bloke.

Melbourne is as cooky as the Addams Family. Did you see 80 year olds look 40 there too? hehe

The people of the Hunza Valley do not look Pakistani at all. They are decendents of Alexander The Great's Army which marched through in 330 BC. Aima and Shamila smile happily for the camera. Karimabad, Pakistan (9/99).

SO EVERY PERSON ON THE WEB IS LYING. I THINK YOU JUST CANT ACCEPT ANY FACTS BLOODCRIES

Visitors have written in great detail about the extraordinary health of the Hunzakuts. There is practically no plant or animal disease, and virtually none in humans: absolutely no cancer, no heart or intestinal trouble: and the people regularly live to be centenarians, signing, and dancing and making love to the edge of the grave. Visitors tell of seeing no cripples. Wounds are said to heal with remarkable speed, seldom becoming infected if rubbed with the local soil, rich in minerals. Hunza women are so healthy they need no assistance in delivering a child whom they breast feed for two to three years, deliberately spacing their children so as to wean them one at a time. Children are invariably reported as growing up unneurotic and healthy, with none of the normal childhood diseases such as mumps, measles, and chicken pox. The girls' complexions are depicted as without acne or blemish, attributable in part to the application of oil of apricot seed.Nor is their any evidence of juvenile delinquency; visitors remark that one never hears a mother scold or bribe a child. Treated as integral members of society, trusted and given responsibility, the children are described as growing up healthy emotionally as well as physically.

Hunza Health Secrets for Long Life and Happiness (Paperback)
by Rene Taylor

Reviewer: Marvin R. Kitzerow (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
I read this book over 30 years ago and it spurred me on practice a natural hygiene lifestyle. (eating predominately fresh uncooked fruits and vegetables, free of all animal products including dairy products) I had spent the next 30 years in the pursuit of nutritional science research and completed the nutritional science program taught at The Life Science Institute formerly in Austin TX. After 30 years of research and practicing a similar dietary lifestyle as described in Renee Taylor's book I can say that I owe my sound health, free of illness and disease for over 30 years to this book! This book is an excellent introduction into the miraculous world of illness free living that can be enjoyed to well over 100 years without medical doctors.

Excellent book with only minor flaws, November 10, 2001
Reviewer: A reader
Great book about the Hunza. The book is basically 2 parts. The first part deals with the authors travel to the Hunza valley and the Hunza way of life. It's like a journal and very enjoyably written.
The second part appeals a little less to me [that's why "only" 4 stars]. It tries to explain why the Hunza are so very healthy and the author does an excellent job of listing all the factors, but especially in the big "Diet" section some explanations don't sound allright to me. [but I am a raw foodist and disagree with the author saying that americans should take artificial supplements] Besides that it is an excellent book. The book also features a section with Hunza recipes, though some of the recipes use sugar, which is stated in the journal section that the Hunza don't use sugar. Hmm, as I said, the diet section is a little weird. sideways.gif

Lessons for a long life, I hope!, June 23, 2000
Reviewer: "iloveprovence" (Columbia, S.C. United States) - See all my reviews

Since I first became aware of the Hunza, I have been fascinated by their simplicity and long life. As a teenager, I began my search for every available piece of information about people who live long and healthy lives. I was, and still am, willing and prepared to incorporate healthful living into my own lifestyle. That is why I have kept my copy of this work at my bedside for many years. It reminds me, daily, of the vigor and health I intend to maintain throughout my long life. This volume carefully and succinctly instructs the reader to follow the approach to life as the Hunza live it, as best one can in western society. Be happy, enjoy the happiness of others, eat well but not too much, exercise vigorously, preferably on hills, avoid envy, keep busy, love your friends, don't worry, play. And my addition, read more books!

the primitive wins against the modern man with ease!., February 6, 2000
Reviewer: eyal - newman (tel-aviv, israel) - See all my reviews
the reports on the hunza tribe in the north of kashmir (north-pakistan)are from 1964, and they still teach us(the modern cultered people) how to eat, drink, behave,in order to live a better life in the sense of the health matters.the book is more facinating then a science fiction book, and the most important thing is:this book is a reality, wich we can make it real for us (the modern people)today at the year of 2000.learn the secretes from a true living legend tribe that in his living area in that specific way of life, to pass the age of 100 in (good health), is not just a wishfull thinking, and not the prevelage of only one person.

Reviewer: Tiffany C. King "Doug King" (Tropical Florida) - See all my reviews

Why do the Hunza people live to be well over 100 years old? They hire out as high mountain trekkers in their 90's. They also father children in their 90's. The Hunza valley is said to be the most beautiful spot on earth. From great yoga exercises to the actual food these people eat. This is the western lady who "discovered" these amazing people.

Melbourne. I am actually tired of debating things with you because you never really base your answers to my questions or statements. I never said these hunza people didn't live longer than others. I never said they didn't get acne as your friend Marr started defending which made no sense to defend as nobody was attacking that. All I said was, that I truly doubt and disbelieve that:

The women who are 80 look like our 40 year olds
Men in their 100's have white straight teeth
Etc.

Those are the ONLY things I was debating. Not anything else okay? See what you do usually is you take things that make sense (like them living longer than Americans or Westerners) and distorting it to saying their 80 year olds look 40.

Do you understand now Melbourne? Or are you going to post another link explaining to me that I cannot accept that they are healthier or they don't get acne and cannot accept facts? smile.gif

HUNZA GIRLS

No women picture allow

I saw a handwritten signage somewhere here "...do not take photos of village women" but that was not inside the bustling street of Karimabad, was quite a distance away, so I guess was alright to snap some. Here is a photo of young school girls in maroon probably their uniform. I just snap while walking, so they have no aware I guess. I remember I went to the fort with Andy, we walked some 20 minutes to a village nearby. We saw a delightful village of ancient architectures built without modern techniques, some elder villagers and kids. Opposite our direction, we saw 2 young girls staring at our cameras in curiousity, they are around 14 in age. One of them in particular born with an unbelievable beautiful face, so sweet on her smiles so immaculate. Myself and Andy both at the same time fascinated by her outlook, our hands already up aiming at her about to snap at least ten, suddenly a voice so unfriendly shouted from one of the door of household " Hey no photo!! ". We saw a younger mother very unfriendly looking at us.

Longevity
They said Hunza peoples have lifespan longer than anybody, I don't know but I saw some elder villagers quite old looking as this one in photo. He is definitely very old sleeping at somebody else's restaurant. I did not ask how old he was probably 100 plus. Any of you wish to live longer sure can come to try this location, you can probably dicover some secrets of Hunza to live forever.

Looks minor but must be because she has come to live in the city/town rather than living in the mountain valley.

The Hunza were a pure race with unspoilt habits until the tourists, traders gave them the bad things in this world like cigarettes.
