hey everyone i just got Pantothenic Acid/b5 and i got 500mg tables & 100 in a bottle.
i was just wondering how many pills a day i should take? on the bottle it says take oonly 1, but i have been hearing how people take 10 or even 20 im confused

i too just started taking b5. i got them at gnc, and the ones i have are also 500 mg and contain 100 pills. i take 20 a day, which equals out to 10g a day. this is the recommended dose, but you don't have to take that many since they are expensive. i've read of effectiveness anywhere from 3g - 10g a day. however it isn't at all dangerous to take 10g a day since they are water-soluble, and from my research they were most effective in people taking 10g a day. i'm very happy so far (i'm on day 11), however i did have an initial breakout.
ps- 1000 mg = 1 g
i take 5 pills every few hours, equaling out to 4 times a day. it's not too bad, though they do run out fast.

Even one a day of 500mg is too much if you don't take it with a B5 complex vitamin with equal values.
500mg tablet = 5,000% of the recommended daily allowance
20 tablets = 10grams = 100,000% of the recommended daily allowance.
If you megadose of B5, you will become deficient in all the other B complex vitamins, resulting many and varied health problems.
One of the B vitamins you will become deficient in is Biotin, which produces many side effects, one of which being dry skin.
That's a helluva sacrifice to all your other body functions to get dry skin. Do you fancy your hair to thin and fall out too? That's another "bonus."
I suggest you do some research first to find out how bad megadosing on B5 (or any supplement) is for your health.

thats bc people on this website looove to take everything to an extreme bc they are impatient .. it says take 1 then i suggest take one and you should also take a B Complex so that u do not become deficient in any other of the b vitamins. B5 is toxic soo taken over along period of time can b harmful so only take one like every other day but take a B Complex everyday and that B Complex also has B5 in it.

You obviously haven't done your research lol .. so before you give advice to people make sure it is the correct one .. btw i hope you enjoy having your hair fall out .. diarrhea .. digestive problem .. liver damage .. juss bc it hasnt hapepned yet doesnt mean it wont so if ur smart you will stop .. not to mention B5 is a TEMPOROARY FIX for all of you who don't know that .. the second u stop tkaing it everythign will come abck and possibly worse sooo it really isnt something u should even think about .. Takin like a B50 or B150 Complex everyday is fine .. i take a couple of those B50 ones not everyday but sometimes .. they are greta for boosting metabolism helping with fatigue etc. Juss be smart people.

it makes sense to take 1 pill a day especially seeing that it is written on it .. i mean those are professionals and doctors who came up with that dosage ... not people on thsi foum so dont lsitne to nay1 who says takine like 1o or 20 pills a day is alright bc they have no clue as to what they are talking about.

Exceeding the limit usually leads to diarrhea; with taking 15 or more times the limit usually leading to hypersensitive teeth.
