I eat whatever I want, but for the past year and a half, I have been eating a whole lot less sugar and other simple carbs and whole lot more fruit, veggies and protein. I have sweets once in a while, but have them after a meal full of fiber and protein. And I have a small serving. And I never drink sugar--no soda, no Starbucks frappecinos, etc.
Other than allergic reactions, my skin has been clear for over a year now.

Heres what I had today:
*Grapes
*Cherrios
*Peanut butter & slice of whole what bread (i know bad but i need to take my accutane with something fatty)
*Salad with tomatos, red onions, carrots, sunflower seeds, and low fat italian (i want to use olive oil but will that taste good? what else can you put with that?)
*Raw Carrots
*Apple
*Crackers & Turkey (probably a no no)
*Pretzels
And like 7 bottles of water
I also incorporate fruits like watermelon, strawberries, oranges, pinneapple... etc and veggies like asparagus, green beans, corn... etc. The meat I eat is fish and chicken (but trying to eat less) The no coffee thing is killing me and i must always give into it
Anyways Im trying! Hopefully the cravings will go away and my body stops feeling so weak and tired all the time... although it is probably also due to the accutane medications...
I am quite new to this diet stuff.. and actually just started visiting this part of the boards, so i appreciate all of your help
Oh my gosh, I wrote this a year ago, wow I can't believe all of the white flour in my diet! I was only a beginner at this diet stuff.

I'm with you. But i think it's reasonable to have a sensible diet, but cutting all carbs, or all grain, or all sugar, or all dairy, or all salt is pretty extreme. Your body can adapt to those diets, but that doesn't mean it's the best or your gonna live longer/better.
I've been taking some digestive enzymes, and i believe they have helped. I'm out of them now and don't plan to buy any more. I've looked into why you'd take them, and what they do and they are not a "cure".
I started here to try and find why these may help, but not "cure" me
diagnose me
Digestion IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
Infections Yeast / Candida Infection
Nutrients Vitamin A Requirement
90% of all dietary retinol is in the form retinyl palmitate which requires action by pancreatic enzymes before it can be absorbed.
Skin-Hair-Nails Eczema
After looking into it, and checking up on this forum, i found a Candida thread. After a bit of reading, i'm going to see if this is my particular problem, by taking things to fight Candida. It has all the signs of being that, reducing my sugar/carbs intake & taking digestive enzymes has helped this may well be the cause.

Keep fresh fruit to a minimum (does fruit cause you to get acne?)
No carton or bottled fruit juices
No sugar, honey or artificial sweeteners (does sugar & honey cause you to get acne?)
No cow's milk or cow's milk products including cheese and butter (dairy = acne?)
No wheat or wheat products (wheat = acne?)
Only occasional tea and no coffee. (coffee = acne?)
Keep carbohydrates low for the first 3 months (high carbs = acne?)
So doesn't this all sound like what a lot of people on here are saying causes their acne? And there strict diets remove these things? In the candida thread on here, people were taking supplements to control the candida & eating fairly normally - most likely swapping white bread for whole wheat and just eating a slightly better diet? Avoiding a lot of sugar (but no all) and yeast etc.

Yeah, Many of us probably have a candida imbalance from all the antibiotics we were given in addition to our diets. I took antibiotics for over 10 years. And it could be a factor as to why a low carb diet like Atkins clears some people's skin. But Sugar/glucose can cause acne in many ways, i.e. hormones, inflammation and candida.

I agree, i think we can all have different causes of acne, acne is a symptom of something else. I was just saying that a lot of people are doing diets which they say is helping, and some are taking digestive enzymes. While these will help, if it is candida that is causing the problem, these won't cure it. I also just found this
So zinc & B vitamins ya say? and drinking lots of water? The more i dig, the more i see the same things mentioned on here todo with acne - so i'm off on my quest to try controlling candida! Apparently it's pretty damn hard, and the longer you've had it the harder it is to get under control....
