Humana covers my sotret. I have to get the generic under my plan but they all, generic and the real thing, cost $50 for a month's worth for me.

thats actually good value considering what it can help and permenantly cure you from acne. also keep in mind that their price was purposely raised 3 times to prevent people from taking it. its real manufacturing cost is something like $20 a months supply

Without insurance, my Amnesteem would cost me a bit over $300 a month. With insurance, I pay $15. Super great. Yay for insurance! eusa_dance.gif

PS. Not to mention the monthly blood tests and derm visits! Without insurance, this treatment can be very pricey! shock.gif

I'm pissed because I just opened my mail, and my blood tests for last month were $180!! They didn't cover it because they said I have a "preexisting condition." Well, I'm trying to appeal it because I've never been diagnosed with "cystic acne" before. I wonder if I can get all my lab work done in a ghetto cheaper place, geez. As long as they keep paying for accutane...

I'm in Canada and it's $100 ($80 USD) for a pack of 30 of the 40mg.
The 30 pack of 10mg costs $50 ($40 USD).

I had to wait for my insurance benefits to kick in before going on accutane!

Yea thats one thing I was wondering...I do believe my insurance only covers the generic brands...so when I get accutane it will be generic but that shouldnt matter should it? Its just a different name but the same pill right?? confused.gif

Norway:
300 USD for 100 capsules of 20mg (but you get 90% refunded from the government)
5 USD for blood tests.
25 USD for a decent moisturizer, which you'll need.

It's an expensive treatment, but the government refunds 90% automatically when your dermatologist fills out a form. You'll have to pay about 1500 USD for a complete treatment though, but it'll be refunded after a while.

We usually don't have separate medical insurances in Norway, because everyone has good coverage by default.

Derm Visits $10
Lab $0
Sotret per Month $5

My Boyfriend has Fantastic insurance and eventhough we're not married I still qualify as a "domestic partner" since we live together.

mine is 70 bucks if i want name brand and 20 bucks for generic (with insurance obviously).

oh yeah and i recommend name brand since there was study that found that the generic accutane was less potent.

QUOTE
I'd much rather "waste" money and keep my health. Accutane is a serious drug and not something to mess around with. I personally am very attached to my liver (physically and emotionally).

You usually have symptoms if your liver or other internal organs are being damaged (pain). I think taking it without a doctor is pretty safe especially if youve already been on it the past and know how your body reacts.
