hi,

Im a new member, just joined yesterday actually. Anywho, i was wondering if y'all have any advice on a gentle cleanser. Winter has just began and i need something gentle to wash with my skin in the morning. It cant be too gentle though like cetaphil or spectra etc etc, cuz i feel like my skin has been washed with oil or something. Im looking for something over the counter and does a good job at cleansing the skin really good without drying it out like a prune. Also i dont like using moisturizer cuz it just causes problems for my seborrehic dermatitis and my face looks like shiny slick of oil. I was thinking of clean and clear sensetive cleanser, have any of you guys had experience with it?

By the way i cant tolerate benzoyl peroxide at all, ony salicylic acid.

Any replies would be appreaciated.

hey

Well im never good at introductions, so let me just start of with my stats. Im a 27 yr female, who was born and bred in Somalia. That said i had great skin up till the age of 17 and 3/4. My skin problems all began when i decided to bleach my hair blonde. I had an allegic reaction to the bleach on my scalp and developed seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp. It got better several weeks later but somehow a couple of months later the seborrheic dermatitis trickled down to my eyebrows and eyelashes. At the time i was using clean and clear cream cleanser. Im not sure why but my skin started reacting to the cream cleanser. Anywho fast forward since then i have been trying to find away to get my skin back the way it used to be. Somwhere in between then and now i started dealing with acne, flakes and discolouration. I have tried numerous cleansers to find something that would keep the acne and seborrheic dermatitis at bay. Thank God, my seborrheic is getting better and my acne is clearing up although its not all gone.

The struggle with my skin has led me to a great depression/anxiety, one that im starting to slowly recover from thank God. It was soo bad that I dropped out of university and literally stopped going out period for months on end. But im starting to get better all praise and thanks belongs to God.

I decided to join this forum to get to know others who are in a similar boat as I and learn a few tricks hopefully to combat acne god-willingly.

Right now my main concern is to find a cleanser that cleans my skin and keeps it from looking dried up like a prune.
