My dermatologist has almost run out of treatments for my acne/rosacea. I have literally gone through almost every type of medication available including Accutane, topical retinoids, antibiotics, etc. She suggested that I try elimite cream to see if mites might be the cause of my skin problem. I have a prescription for Elimite, but I really don't know if I actually want to use it. My main concern is the fact that it is not intended for the face. I'm worried that it will break me out even worse because of this. I'm very picky about what I put on my face, and a product that is not specifically meant for acne/rosacea has me really hesitant. Has anyone used this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My dermatologist suggested my problem on my forehead may have been mites as well. He didnt suggest Elimite, but Plexion instead. Its a sulfur cream that you apply. Some people can be allergic to sulfur, but fortunately i wasn't. Bumps on my forehead have for the most part disappeared. You might want to look into that. Another similiar brand is Clenia. Both are a sulfur and sulfacetamide combination. Good luck!
