Hello,
I just need some advice or suggestions from the Spiro users out there. I am really, really tired of the constant flu like stomach aches I've been experiencing using Yasmin. I have been taking it for almost 5 months now and each month it has seemed to get worse and worse. Now, on the plus side, I love that my face has finally cleared up, I only get small, sometimes larger pimples, but they're gone by like a day or two, in August I started incorporating Spiro into my routine and it's been great! The only time I experienced side effects is when I first took it, after that nothing. Sometimes weird muscle aches, but it goes away because I end up drinking lots of water, as I knew to do before I started taking this drug. I've upped my dosage to 75mgs, once a day, but I'm terrified that this won't be enough for my breakouts, especially if I quit Yasmin. I quit taking Yasmin for like 2 days just to see if in fact if I was experiencing the painful and constant stomach aches, while still taking Spiro, sure enough, they stopped! As much as I love the effects with Yasmin, I just don't think I can go on with constant gas and pain. Seriously it's every single day 24 hours. So, I just want to take Spiro. I'm on the white pills of Yasmin right now and I have 3 left. So I was thinking of stop taking it, and just take my spiro. The thing is I'm so scared, I mean I haven't had to worry about my skin since July and it's been such a relief! I have a life now. Has anyone gone off a bcp that has helped with their skin, and continued Spiro with success? Does spiro help with hormonal acne then and do you think it could keep me clear on it's own? I really don't like birth control and I don't need it since I am not currently sexually active. Sorry for such a long post and probably the same questions as I usually ask, I just need some encouragement or advice at least. biggrin.gif

Thanks guys for reading!
P.S. I do not have insurance, otherwise I'd go on Yaz. cry.gif

Can someone tell me if there is a difference between taking two 25mgs instead of just one 50mgs? My doctor is putting me on it and in 3 weeks wants me to do 50mgs twice a day, however w./out insurance the 50mgs of Spiro is $30. I didn't have it this time around, so he said 25 TWICE is fine too.

So is there different potents in them or is it because it's just convient to take just 1?

Can someone help me out here. I decided to skip the white pills of Yasmin last pack and I didn't have my period, acne nothing, I loved it! Well, I decided to do the samething this time around, starting last night on the new pack (yellow pill, skipping the whites again) and wake up this morning with blood. I don't understand, I thought the pills were suppose to prevent it? No wonder I kept breaking out last week and it still hasn't stop. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I don't have time to dick around with it either. shy.gif

Thanks!

I have a question for the users of Spiro and a birth control. I was wondering if anyone had success going off a birth control (I use Yasmin) but continue using Spiro instead? I do realize that BCP are a huge success rate for your skin, and I love what yasmin is doing for me in that part, but I am really tired of the side effects with it. I keep getting bad stomach aches, boobs always hurt (even before spiro) , my boobs are too big, they were perfect size before, and no matter how HARD I work out, I have this stomach that won't go the f*** away. Would going off Yasmin, but continuing on Spiro make my skin go crazy you think or continue helping it?

P.S. I'm still only on 25mgs of Spiro, once a day, but will be upping my dosage the beginning of September, hopefully 50mgs twice a day. At least, that's what I'm going to ask him for!

Hey, I have a quick question. Can a OBGYN prescribe Spiro? I went today and my derm won't give it to me unless I quit my birth control for 2 weeks. I'm TOO scared to just stop and she never listens to me anyway. I guess that's what I get for the clinic. So, I was thinking of talking to an obgyn and also switching to another birth control. Thanks ahead of time for the answer/s.
