Need Advice

I need some advice. I am 47 and I am still battling cystic acne on my neck of all places. This is so embarassing, especially at my age. I have used BP in varying strengths w/ limited success. I have used Nucelle mandelic acid exclusively since Sept. of 2008. My opinion it is no worse or better than when I used BP. I do not want to go on accutane. Not only do I have to battle cysts on my neck, sometimes this results in my neck looking like crap, because this also results in drying of my neck so I look like crap w/ the dry, flakey skin w/ cysts. I hate having to worry about wrinkles and acne. Is there anyone else that battles this type of acne on their neck ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello !

I am new to this forum and I finally decided to join. I have mainly read differnt posts in the past months learning from everyone else's experience. I can honestly say I never thought I would be joining a acne forum at the age of 47. LOL My story is similar to many here tho. I have suffered since I have been 14 or 15. It started out mild...but turned into cystic acne in my 20's. Presently I suffer mostly cystic acne on my jawline and neck. The rest of my face is mainly clogged pores, mainly on my cheeks, and forehead. I have tried alot.of products. The worse being Acne Statin. I tried that yrs. & yrs. ago and my face got to be at its worse. My whole face was covered w/ cystic acne. I never felt so low in my life. After stopping that It took me forever to get my face cleared up half way.. Biggest mistake of my life trying that. I also tried proactive and it really didn't do much. I have used the skintactix products w/ desent result, but never have gotten to the point of being completely clear. I have also used varying strengths of bp regularly.

I must say the posts that inpressed me the most was from vivi 24 and Tempname with the success they had with Nucelle, mandelic acid. I decided to give this a try and ordered it for myself. I was nervous about quitting bp and just giving this product a try. I started this regimine the first week of Sept. and thus far I am happy w/ the results I have been seeing. This stuff exfoliates my skin like nothing else. The process has been slow at time but I am sticking w/ it. I still get occassinal cysts on my neck and I am hoping this will help me get things under control. Last week my neck had broken out w/ some big cysts and my self esteem went down. I hate dealing w/ all this stuff at my age. I will keep at this and see where it leads me. I truely am sorry for the long post. Thanks for listening
