Question for those who were on Accutane

Is there a certain time after Accutane that you have to wait to go on a Retin-A, or can you start it right after your 6-month treatment?

I'll be starting Retin-A Micro in about a month and a half. I'm just finishing up a 6 month Accutane course, and have cleared up quite nicely. Anyway, my question is: will I still get an IB from the topical treatment, even though Accutane has pretty much taken care of everything? I know it probably varies for different people, so any experience would be nice. Thanks, and take care!

I'm on my 6th day of Accutane. My face hasn't even started to dry up yet, though I have noticed less oil production and my lips are starting to dry...

I was just wondering how long it took for your breakouts to stop. I mean, I know I won't be expecting anything soon, seeing as I haven't even experienced my IB yet, but I was just wondering the average.

Another Groovy Accutane Log :)

Hi, everyone!

My name is Lauren and I start my first course of Accutane tomorrow (1-30-09). I am a freshman in high school and I have just recently started struggling with SEVERE acne. It's kind of strange... it never used to be quite this bad but I guess it just crept up on me. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyway, now it's gotten to the point where it cannot be covered by makeup, and to the point where I hate looking in the mirror. It is an awful feeling. I have quite a few too many cysts, but mostly my face is just red and inflamed. I don't know my face just isn't smooth and pretty. Instead, it's bumpy, blotchy and uneven. I'm actually quite clear just below my eyes, but everywhere else... TERRIBLE!

I've tried just about everything, which is why this is my last resort. Everything from ProActive, to changing my diet (which didn't need to be changed in the first place, because I'm very nutritional ), to Murad, to all the expensive topical treatments in the world, and still... no change!

Anyway, I have really high hopes for Accutane working for me. I've seen so many amazing results just browsing through the gallery and some logs, and I can honestly say with confidence that Accutane is a miracle drug!

I'm 5'10" and 110 lbs. starting on 80 mg/day. Yiesh! I know, quite a high dosage, huh? I really want to post pictures, but I think I'm just going to take one for each month and then post them all at the end. That way, I don't have to shame myself beforehand, lol.

A friend of mine who took Accutane about a year ago told me about this website and how she couldn't have gone through it without the support from the wonderful community, so I just had to make my own account. And I will continuously post through my 6 months of treatment... anything to encourage others like me!

Does Accutane repair skin???

I know that the Accutane gets rid of acne, but does it also repair your skin along the way?

Any answers are helpful.
