So here I am again, now a college graduate and a 25-year old fashion and beauty entrepreneur. I let my rx run out and once again delayed seeing a dermatologist for a few months too long. This time, I used an online dermatologist called YoDerm to acquire the prescriptions that I already knew would work. My acne resurged quickly, and it's astounding how similar my breakout pattern is. Its on my cheeks and forehead worst, and my chin a little too. My left cheek is visibly worse than my right cheek. Exactly like last time.
This time around, I've documented the whole process weekly from pre-treatment to the present. At least this time, I can be of some help to someone! Keep checking back as I update my prescription treatment log here.
- cleared up intensely but broke out 4 huge pimples recently
- still incredibly oily
-not taking any supplements anymore
- added glycolic soap, salicylic acid, clindamycin toner and benzoyl peroxide
-i have regular dermatologist appointments now for glycopeel cleaning
-in three months, i underwent 8 glycopeel cleaning, 8 blue light therapies and 2 tretinoin/3 step peels
After having tried countless products from my doctor (including antibiotics, topicals), and various birth controls (yasmin, yaz, marvelone), this pill seems to be finally working! Seriously recommend to any girl who has acne and has tried other BC options, this one is best at limiting testosterone (which I think is the cause of my acne)
On Spironlactone (did see results a few months--cysts stopped on neck and jaw, been on it for about ten, then stopped working, i.e. return of the cysts), seeing if it was the manufacturer change that made my hormones out of whack...
-still oily -still breaking out - a lot of hyperpigmentation and some box scars - lighter skin tone and more even, kind of smoother - replaced aha soap with african black soap (and loving it!) -still taking vitamins a,d and niacin. ran out of zinc -mildly breaking out on my chest and back -will continue this until week 24 and if shit still happens then idk anymore
This album depicts my journey to clear my acne. I've used acne.org products before, but they didn't clear my skin completely (I was using them for several years). In mid-September in 2014, I decided to go to the dermatologist. My doctor prescribed me Atralin, which didn't show very good results. So I went back in mid-November of 2014 and was then prescribed Tazorac and a pill called Acticlate. In the morning, I wash my face with Cetaphil. At night, I wash with Cetaphil again and apply a pea-sized amount of Tazorac. I will keep this updated as my treatment continues!
