Ok here's my story ... In 8th-9th grade my acne was pretty moderate, but really frustrating. My derm prescribed all this stuff that kind of worked, but I still wasn't satisfied. So I go on Accutane and it was amazing. However, I play soccer and the Accutane was hurting my knees so my derm told me stop using it. After the season I go back on it and its amazing. However, my face and lips are pretty dry, but I manage. My face was spotless. So i go off Accutane by end of summer leading into Junior year. The only thing is that it worked so well that I just stopped using the Accutane because my face was clear and I didn't feel like dealing with all the dryness (basically I didn't use the Accutane as much as I should of) Now i think it's coming back to haunt me. Throughout junior year my acne was fine, just a few zits here and there, but nothing that bothered me. In the summer I noticed my acne got slightly worse, but my face was generally clear most of the time. Now I'm in senior year and my acne is basically back to how it was in early high school. I have stints of clear skin and breakouts. It's so annoying.
What should I do? Should I go back on Accutane? What I have: Clearasil Ultra Tazorac Differin Cetaphil moisturizer and cleanser - I also have some redness. How can I reduce redness? I think my skin is a little sensitive too. Also, the picture is very generous. My face is much more red and everything just looks worse in general. I'm not good with lighting! Thanks |

I find that aloe vera gel REALLY helps shrink tiny pimples like the ones you have. I apply some at night to active acne, and when I wake up it's either gone or reduced dramatically. You should give it a try...it helps a bit for red marks/inflammation as well.
You should definitely not try accutane. Your acne is very, very, very mild. I mean, I see four little spots on your chin. Those go away really quick. |

i was actually already on accutane. but the thing is this stuff will clear up in a week, and ill be clear for another week, but then it will come back again.
i'm trying the aspirin mask since its so mild and maybe it will work. |
