I just would like to know if there is any difference between sotret and accutane. I asked my derm if there is a difference, and she said it is exactly the same. She said accutane is more money, and just has a different name. She said she only uses sotret on her patiants, and everyone has gotten clear skin so far. This one girl(her patiant who i saw) took sotret for three months, and her face does not have one single flaw.

Yes,exactly the same. Sotret has different innactive ingredients. I dont think soybean oil vs. some other oil will make any effing difference.

I have read some posts on here that sounded knowledgeable and they said generics or "equivalents" are not exactly the same. The FDA allows a certain amount of difference. I read a post that said the bioequivalency can be -20/+25. My pharmacist said that means that if a generic has 80% bioequivalency to the brand it can be called "equivalent".
Two of the derms I saw said they have noticed the generics not working as well in their patients and more side effects from the generics. It probably depends upon how bad your acne is. Mine was very severe and after 3 courses I still get deep cysts so until I see FDA tests that show them to be identical -- I am sticking with brand.
