Spiro and periods

Hi everyone!

I've been on spiro a month now and it seems to have stopped my period. Prior to taking spiro i have been very regular, so this is a little worrisome. I'm not on any birth control and i'm wondering if anyone else experienced this and whether or not this is some sort of adjustment phase.

I would greatly appreciate any kind of input!

Dealing with emotional stress/pain

Just wondering what methods everybody else is using to deal with emotional pain/stress whether it be from acne or just life in general. I recently started cutting and it does provide some relief. Anyway, just wondering how others cope.

Something to think about

As an acne sufferer i am familiar with the emotional struggles associated with this disease. I am not here to diminish anyones insecurities but rather share something that certainly troubled me to the very core of my being.

I am willing to bet that practically none of you heard of the disease Noma, and until yesterday neither had I. I discovered it by pure fluke. Instead of going into medical descriptions of the disease let me just show you some images and you be the judge.

Perhaps some of you will agree that having your facial tissues eaten away at is somewhat worse than having even the more severe forms of acne. Now this disease occurs mostly in developing countries and affects mostly children who have a weak immune system and have been infected with measles or tuberculosis. What's worse is that while we complain about how there are no permanent treatments for acne, nobody even takes interest into this horribly disfiguring disease and most of these kids are outcasts. These children have absolutely no hope for the future because without plastic surgery there is no way of even partially restoring their faces.

So all in all, even though we moan and complain about the inadequate acne treatments that are available to us, we should nevertheless also appreciate that at least we have means available to us, even though they might not be the very best. And i know most will respond that someone's elses problems does not diminish their own, and i do agree with that. But it would be nice to have people appreciate what is offered to them once in a while instead of trying to convince everyone else that they have it the worst.

My family says i'm rude

Whenever my aunt and uncle come to visit, i never come down to say hello unless i'm clear. My entire family thinks i'm rude and they constantly scold me about it. The thing is, as most relatives, mine likes to comment on my appearance. Once my aunt had told me: "Wow you have so many pimples". I know it's not the worst thing that could have been said, but still it hurt me. My uncle also once said that i look like a rat. Ever since then, i haven't been very comfortable being in their presence and i try to avoid seeing them on 'bad' days even more. However, my uncle and aunt feel insulted by my lack of greetings and constantly remind me about it. I don't know what to do. I'm not really interested in telling them that the reason that i don't come down to say hello is because i don't want to be judged and brought down even more by their comments.

This is getting really frustrating and i have no idea as to what i should do
