So first off, I've tried several over the counter BP products, from the regimen to 10% bp and salatic (sp?) stuff and tea tree oil. It was all so-so for the longest time. Some days it didn't look bad, others it looked like I popped all my pimples when I didn't. So I went first to the doctor. He put me on some pill, teccyline or something like that and epiduo. Worked the best but I still had some so he recommended a derm. A bit of confusion led my mom not to make the appointment that quickly - she thought they would or something. So 2 months later (Damn long wait >.>) I was a derm. He's been confusing to be honest. He took me off that pill, guess I didnt need it or something, gave me a cream for the morning (its in some yellow striped container, i can find the name if you care) and kept me on epiduo. he gave me some other thing for my back - pretty much says '3% bp cleanser'. works good. again, pretty mild results when i went back. i told him i didnt like creams and how they took a bit to put on. he pretty much laughed at me and said something like 'you have to work for it' or something. pissed me off but i didnt want to look like a jerk so i just said 'ha ok'. now that was in july. its nearly november and my mom made another appointment back in early october. sometime at the end of november i go back. so for the big question (if you read this far...):

What should i say? my skins back to where i started before even seeing any doctor. some days it worst. seems like my skin doesnt like bp anymore, hasnt liked it sense i stopped that pill. im not sure what to tell my derm though. should i ask for accutane? is that too extreme? what should i ask for - some more topical things or a pill... he seems to only belive in creams so i may be stuck on another one. i just want some form of a pill really, take it and theres no guess work as to how much your skin likes or how much it doesnt... but i dunno. :\

oh and my skins moderate mostly. it isnt mild as its all over, plus some on my neck/shoulders and back. it isnt severe though as there just normal pimples. some hurt when if i touch them though - should i bring that up?

and if you read this far, woo hoo. if you didnt, then simple question: what should i tell my derm on my 3RD visit to him, probably 5th in total of acne related doctor visits.

Hey so I was on the regimen for a few months and I saw an improvement, but recently my mom asked the doctor if I could get something from him or see a derm. Well I went to him and got two things. Some 'Tetracycline' caps and Epiduo.

I was told 'the least the better'. Kinda confused by this. On the regimen, dan always says 'the more the better'. Its 2.5% bp though. Its got 'adapalene' in it though. Is this the reason?

And i don't know if this is the right forum, but anyone been on this tetracycline thing? My doc said come back in a month, yet I only have 30 pills of it, taken twice a day. Thats 15 days... Uhh.. Anyone know why?

Thanks to anyone who can help. For the record, my doc told me I was scarring, but said this should help. Hes pretty nice too, he said I should be able to go on accutane should this not work out. Although I'd still have to see a derm, so it'd be up to them... Meh. I hope this stuff works.

Alright, I've been on the regimen for a few days now and have no time in the morning to apply the moisturizer. I read on the check list that you could skip it at night, so is it possible just to use it at night and skip it in the morning? I just have too much to do in the morning and at night is when everything winds down (Finally!) and I can apply it then.

Thought I'd make a thread for my third attempt at, the very least, 50% clear skin.

History on me: I've had acne for 3 years now, me, being almost 14 (Turning 14 in August smile.gif), and I've had acne since I was 11 or so. It started out as just a pimple or two, and next picture day, I found my self with a good dozen pimples. My sisters friend had acne and had used Proactive, so I tried that. Before that, I tried a tree oil thing that my dad uses, but he basically grew out of acne, so it works fine for him (Not to mention I never did use the full set, I found out about Proactive right after starting just the tree oil) but not for me. So I tried Proactive, and I mean TRIED. THREE sets of that stuff, using the mask once or twice a week and it didn't work. I even got to a point where for 2 weeks straight I didn't miss a single day and used the mask a good 5 times, and the most it did was keep my acne from getting worst. Needless to say, I got fed up one day about wasting so much time and money on it, so I went google searching. First thing I found? Acne.org from an acne search!

So here I am. Tomorrow, or on Tuesday, my acne.org set should come in, and I'll be starting the minute it comes in. My only hopes are for clear skin by my birthday (Sometime in August I won't mention...). School gets out in a week so I won't even have to worry about waking up early to put on the BP, so it should be much, much easier.

I plan to take a picture tomorrow with my digital camera, but I'll probably only show part of my face (Too many freaks out there, you know...). We'll see if the acne.org set comes in too, I'm hoping it does (Been 3 days now, so it should, but meh, I'm just glad I googled this site!).

So long for now, I'll update this later tomorrow.

Hi,
I've been using proactive now for... well, almost a year I think, last summer was when I tried it. Well, its been working... wait, it hasn't. Thats why I'm here: What works better? Price, honestly, doesn't matter to me, all I want is these dang zits gone and when I say gone, I mean, GONE.

So, what works? I'm thinking about trying that regimen thing listed here, but I'm unsure if that will work. Will someone conform it works that well? I don't have acne that bad, but its bad enough people have (Only friends honestly, but even then...) "Pizza face".

So, yeah, what works?
