Pronexin, Anyone heard of it or tried it?
It's ranked #1 on acnetreatmentsreview.net
also wondering if that site is legit, the other product reviews are pretty spot on.

Hi Everyone,
I've been struggling with my moderate acne for about 8 months now. I decided to try the acne.org regimen, but had to substitute Spectro Acne Care Vanishing Cream "sensitive skin" for the Neutrogena On The Spot treatment, as no where around here carries it.
The first night I used my Cetaphil with the Spectro everything was great. I felt it drying out my skin within the first few minutes and put on my moisturizer. It was great and I was really excited.
I woke up late for work the next morning (I'm a nanny) so I brought my products to their house so I could do my thing after I got them off to school. The little one was downstairs while I was upstairs washing my face. I waited 5 minutes before putting on the Spectro. As I was rubbing it in, my face was getting a little red. I thought maybe my skin was just dry and being sensitive as I live in Canada and it's been so dry and cold lately. I thought maybe I put on just a little much so I turned around to wipe some off on the towel.
As I turned back towards the mirror, I was horrified to see my entire face was purple. I literally watched the color travel down my neck, onto my chest. I lifted up my shirt and pants to see my entire body was covered in hives. I've never known to have an allergy to anything but cats. I ran downstairs to find some Bendaryl, but there was none. I was starting to cough and wheeze and felt like my body was on fire and I couldn't put it out. By the time I made it back to the bathroom to spalsh cold water on my face, there was fluid filling up my lungs. I got the phone and called 911. It took about 5 minutes for EMS to get there as I was a bit out of the city.
When they got me into the ambulance, I was in anaphylactic shock. My entire body was convulsing, I was lapsing in and out of consciousness and my heart rate was 135 b/pm. They shot me with a double dose of benadryl. It took me about 25 minutes to stabalize. At the hospital, the nurse informed me I was within minutes of dying.
I now carry a Twinject in my purse and have one at home (like an EpiPen). I've even had to re-route my career plans for becoming a massage therapist to become a chair massage therapist. I can't risk touching the skin of a client who has used a product like this. Unfortunately, we have not isolated the specific ingredient that almost killed me, but I basically use a hospital grade soap for washing everything and use a natural shampoo. It always takes one exposure or more to create an allergy. I almost died from it. Be incredibly careful what you put on your skin. Your skin is your body's largest organ. It deserves only the best.
I'm not advocating against this product, just rather informing other consumers as I would like to be myself.
Thanks you!

So who uses it? What are results and side effects?
I bought some samples on like of the .3 because I know my face can be very sensitive. I apply it at night and right now it seems to be working but I know to wait longer because sometimes my face places games. Today I notice it was a little red but that may have been from the cold. It has been causing me to peel a little bit so that's why I use it at night.
So far I like it. I also ordered some samples of the .6 to use when I'm done with the .3.
Personal update: I have stopped using green cream. It made my skin smoother and healthier looking but it did not seem to help with my acne. I would still recommend that you try it because it might work.
I have switched over to Diacneal which really seems to be working. I broke out at first but now things seem to have cleared up and my skin is a lot smoother and more even. Right now I have no active pimples, just healing spots and some comedal acne.

Hey guys I've got a quick question. I've been using the combination of Duac Topical Gel (clindamycin 1% benzoyl peroxide 5%) and the included wash which is SFC Lotion Gentle soap-free cleanser. They work great for me. When ever I don't forget to follow my regimen or run out of the product my skin is great. The thing about it is that they come as a package and I usually run out of the face wash before the Duac so I have to use something else in the mean time.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a over the counter face wash to use in substitution of the SFC Lotion during the time I have ran out of it. I've been using Clean and Clear blackhead clearing scrub which I'm not too sure about. If you guys have opinions on replacing that product that would be great too. It would help me out A LOT, thanks.

so i just came back from walmart and only one product of olays has zinc oxide. And i checked everybrand in the store too and none had zinc oxide either.
Olay complete spf 30 defense
daily uv mosturizer w/ vitamin E,b3
and provitamin B5
(7.5% Octinoxate , 6.0% Zinc Oxide)
http://www.olay.com/boutique/complete/prod...1?tab=ingrelistI did notice that the generic of olay at walmart called equate had zinc oxide too.
There are two of these. One w/ the added vitamin E like olay. And one for sensitive skin.
The vitamin one has a red thing on it. And the normal one had a green/blue thing on it.
Equate Complete Beauty Lotion
Spf 15
Active Ingredient (Octinoxate 6.0% and Zinc Oxide 3.0%)
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...999#Ingredientshttp://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...uct_id=10403101Are these ingredients comparable to the original olay everyone loves? Has anyone tried the Equate? I really need a mosturizer so someone please respond. Oh and one of the Equate ones were for sensitive skin and i believe that was the one without the vitamins(green).

What should I do if I can't deal with the flakiness caused by the BP? I have used several different BP products in the past in several different doses and I just can't tolerate the flakiness. I read a book on Acne... wish I could remember the title but the solution/regimen in the book was something like this:
Morning:
Wash face with Salicylic (sp) acid gel cleanser such as murads. Once you've rubbed it into your skin let it sit for 2-3 min before completely rinsing it off.
Wash face with a Glycolic acid cleanser such as Wrinkle Revenge 1 or 2. Once again let it sit on your face for 2-3 min before completely rinsing.
Apply an oil free moisturizer (small amount)
Night:
Wash face with Salicylic acid cleanser exactly the same as in the morning.
Rub ice cube over effected area for 1-3 min then apply a BP cleanser to the skin. Do NOT rinse...
Hold ice packs on effected areas for 10-15 minutes then go to sleep without rinsing the BP cleanser off.
This combination seemed to work instantly, but when my skin started to flake I cut the BP part of the regimen out because I simply would rather have the mild yet persistent bumps then look like a snake shedding my scales.
(I just remembered the name of the book... 'The Acne Cure'... I think)
This regimen also required a very, very, very strange step that I just couldn't bring myself to do although it sounds like it probably would help and that is to do at home colon cleansing. Not happening for me!!!
It also recommended not to eat lots of sugars like the ones found in candy and to try and avoid the bad fats associated with fried foods... Which makes perfect sense and helps with acne I know. But this whole process can be so time consuming and tedious that it's too hard to follow religiously.
My acne is more obnoxious than it is bad. I usually always have 3- 5 tiny flesh colored bumps on my forhead right between my eye-brows one or two on my temples and 3 - 5 flesh colored bumps on my chin. Around my period I might get a red pimple or two that turned into a puss filled mini island but those seem to bother me less because I can pop them and then their gone a day or two later. But those tiny little bumps, I swear to you, make me insane. Their noticable but not disgusting looking at all because their flush with the color of my skin but the way they feel when I touch my face or in certain light they stand out more than other times drives me absolutely crazy. And make-up tends to make them show up even more.
The regimen I described before minus the BP reduced at least 80% of my problems but I can't afford it anymore because each cleanser was 25 bucks plus tax and the lotion was thirty plus tax which adds up to almost a hundred bucks every month or two.
I'm 24 and my self-esteem is almost non-existent. When I was a teenager and all the way until about 22 my skin was like a porcelin doll minus a menstrual pimple here and there, so I have a very hard time understanding why I have it now. I have a huge feeling that alot of it if not all of it is caused by my smoking habit, intense stress levels, hormones, weekend binge drinking, and my laziness of washing my face before bedtime. I hardly ever wear makeup except occasionally eye make-up or concealer and the only foundation or powder I use is Bare-minerals which is supposed to be gentle on the skin and even help the skin.
I need advice, anything.
Please help me... Lately I've been so frustrated with my skin I just want to peel my skin off and sometimes it even brings me to tears or I'll refuse to leave the house which drives my fiance crazy.
WHAT DO I DO????????

Hi all,
I have been using Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer only on my T-Zone and not my cheeks. When I use it on my cheeks, the oil on them looks like a mirror (shine). I tried using other moisturizers and all do the same (Cetaphil makes it shine like crazy but keeps acne away). I need something that moisturizes my face but does not create shine. Anyone had luck with any of the non-shine moisturizers? Thinking of buying a couple to test.

So right now iam changing my products since, i still get whiteheads and an occasional pimple. I switched my cleanser from mario badescu enzyme gel cleanser to purpose gentle wash (b/c i ran out). And im sticking with the proactiv repair 2.5% lotion. But i think my problem maybe my mosturizer. My bf has noooooo acne! he has beautiful perfect skin, he just uses some body lotion around the corners of his mouth where it gets dry. And well he once asked to borrow mine and he said it stings. I use it and it doesn't sting, atleast i don't think it does. Anyways i believe it may be irritating my skin.
Iam using acne free green tea mosturizer w/ spf 15. I live in texas, where we get ugly weather. It will be humid one day, and rainy the next, and then hot, and windy and bit cold and then humid again. Anyways iam trying to find a mosturizer that will accomidate those factors, i mainly want something that isn't to thick that my skin gets all oily, but it can't be too light.
Im not working right now so i can't buy anything over 20 bucks. And i preferablly want something i can buy in a store and not online. Any suggestions?

So, I was asking questions on a different site and someone recommended this skin care line.
http://www.mariobadescu.com/Skin-Care-Products I was wondering what anyone's opinion on this skin care line would be and/or if anyone has tried it. I have never heard of it before. The buffering lotion is only 17 dollars and is suppose to shrink cystic pimples. What do you think?

I am on BP 10%, clindamycin 2x/day, and doxycycline 100mg 2x/day, so my face is turning red from all the harsh ingredients.
I wash with Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash 2x/day and it burns. Are there any acne face cleansers that are gentle and effective?

Everyone has their own opinion on acne based on what they've seen themselves and heard from others......
was wondering.....,
Does anyone on here believe massive cystic acne can be completely resolved to 100% clearance and maintained without oral antibiotics or accutane.....?
(I'd be curious to hear any strong opinions out there......... holistic people, veterans, moderators....?)

Last nite on the local news they did a segment on THE PERFECTOR a treatment that doesn't cause any after effects, no pain, it tightens the skin, clears up acne and soften scarring. Cost is about $200 a treatment --- depending on the person anywhere from 3 to 10 treatments might be needed. claims you will see immediate effects from the first treatment....said the process has been in Europe and just now getting to this country----anyone heard of it ---sounds way too good to be true or
does it really work?

Hi everyone.
I've been using solugel 4 for about two months now. I apply it once in the morning and once at night. It works moderately well as far as clearing up my acne, but it REALLY dries out my face. I was hoping after awhile the skin drying wouldn't be as severe, but as of right now, things have remained the same. After using it at night i wake up to extremely flakey skin!
I don't want to go to school with flakey skin, for obvious reasons. I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to moisturizers and all that stuff, so usually i just find a moisturizer around the house and put it on before i go to school.
Thing is, i KNOW it's irritating my acne, and i know i shouldn't be using it. I just don't know what to use!
Any moisturizers out there that will keep my skin from flaking and wont cause my acne to get worse? Also, would applying moisturizers after using solugel be a bad idea?
thanks!

Hi,
So BP was working well for me, all inflamed pimples and redness had gone, skin was soft (no bumps anywhere) and I was starting to get confident to go out again.
But it wasn't perfect.
So this woman I know who knows quite alot about dermatology (especially all that natural products stuff) and she gave me a homeopothy treatment to try out:
Silicea (Complex Homeopathic Legning no. 11). There these pills that I melt under my tongue twice a day. I can't find alot of information about them anywhere which is mysterious..
So I thought nothing of it and just took them.
Suddenly my acne is getting red and SO MUCH WORSE!! Even worse then before I started using BP .... there are about 6 pustules on my face and there are red blotches everywhere! :/
I am still using BP and Clearasil (my normal regimen) and cursing the day i started using these goddam pills....
But then I thought, is it normal with homeopothy treatments for your acne to get worse before it gets better?
PLEASE HELP ME, I'M BACK IN THE DUMPS!!
x

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this web site. A few months ago I had a breakout and since then I've been trying to figure out how to tackle this acne problem... this site has been very helpful!

Anyhow, I got myself some Clearasil Daily Facial Wash (the cleanser) and some Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion for steps 1 and 3 of the regimen respectively. However I also have this 10% BP Panoxyl Foaming Wash (I know, I should've gotten 2.5% but I hadn't read this web site before buying it

) that I am using for step 2. So my question is this: the bottle's directions say that after applying the BP and massaging it into my face, I should rinse it off my face. On the other hand, the Acne.org regimen says not to wash the BP off and let it dry instead, before applying the moisturizer.
So.. who should I listen to? Is this particular product meant to be washed off, after all?
Thanks!
