To BP, or not to BP, that is the question.

Hello all! Cam here with a new thread!

Recently most of my acne has gone away. I have maybe one spot that is dying down and two little pimples. But since I've been on an antibiotic, I haven't had the large spots I usually get with no white heads that take forever get rid of.

I'm left with a whole entire face full of red marks, though. I'm happy seeing that I killed all the acne that was there, but I'm ready to get fully clear. I mean my red marks are so bad that it looks like i have active acne still.

I've been reading around the forums that BP prolongs the life of redmarks/makes them worse.
I feel as though BP has given me everything far with killing my active acne.

I was considering maybe skipping a few spots of my face with bp to see if the area either improves or breaks out.

Do you think it's worth it? Is there any proof that red marks are prolong'd by BP? Has anyone done a test with pictures on redmarks forming around the same time and then using bp on one spot and none on the other?

So just awhile ago, My cousin and his friend came over to my house.
I haven't seen his friend in awhile and he was like.
"Cameron I haven't seen you in awhile. I see you're going through changes." He proceeds to make gesture of him putting his fingers infront of his face and running down his cheeks. Indicating acne.
And then told me that he used to have it pretty bad but he was put on antibiotic, and I told him that I was on one currently and hopefully it clears me up.

The strange thing is when was telling me about it, I didn't get a shot to the heart like I usually do. I just kinda felt neutral about it and carried on the conversation as it was. I didn't stop and take a sigh or feel like leaving.

I just thought it was odd that I didn't get upset.
Maybe it's because I know it's getting better?

I thought my face was looking better, but then I walked out into the hallway.

Mom: Cameron, have you been trying something new on your face?
Me: No , why?
Mom: It looks like you broke out again.

Feeling Betrayed.

Hey Guys. So today I was all excited because I was going to the dermatologist again!
Well. I got in, and waited for him. Thinking of all these questions to ask him.
He walks in. Looks at my face once, and then just writes me a prescription for Tetracycline.
He didn't that many questions. Or anything.

I asked him about my red marks and what I could for them. He said there wasn't really anything to do for redmarks except not get pimples in the first place. Which is true, but I guess I wanted a better answer..

So I felt like he could have done a better job for as much as we pay him.
I'm not sure if I want to switch from Cephalexin to Tetracycline because my skin is looking better than it ever has in months.

On another discussion;
When he used the term pimple, I kinda wanted to cringe.
I like saying I have acne.
The words Pimple, and Zits just make it sound more..dirtier?

So on topic;
Do you believe in your Dermatologist as a hero?
Do you dislike the terms Pimples and Zits?

Has anyone had success with Cephalexin? (Keflex)

Hey, I hope this isn't a repeat thread, and I think it's the right place. So here we go!

Hi! I'm going back on Cephalexin because I was stupid, and didn't give it enough time to work.
So I was wondering.

Have you been on Cephalexin? Have you had success? Did you not get the results you expected?
Did you hate the horrible smell and taste!?

Haha. Please reply if you've been on this antibiotic. I want to get feedback. And see if you guys can give me hope, or get me to not feel bad when it doesn't work.
