End Of Month One!

Oh my god! My skin has not looked this bad in forever, I literally want to hide out in my room until this is all over. However, I will say my blackheads are almost completely gone! I'm hoping they are totally gone within the next week or so. As far as new breakouts, I get a new one everyday. And they all seem to cluster around the corners of my mouth/chin. It's disgusting. I literally had about 8 whiteheads all in one area and I made the horrible decision to top them, which only made them spread so I am now left with the nastiest, GIANT red patch. I also have a few more inflamed pimples on my right cheek, but those don't bother me as much because they are spaced out enough, unlike the, pardon my language, cluster fuck, that is happening on my chin.

My face is also becoming wayyyyy drier than it was just a couple days ago. And obviously, it's the driest on my chin. It just looks like absolute shit - it's miserable.

As far as side effects, my lips are dry, but not super dry. My scalp has stopped itching and no achy bones/joints thank god!

Dermatologist appointment tomorrow, we'll see what she says.

WHEN IS THIS GOING TO START CLEARING UP?!

It is brave of you to show pics. I had the exact same acne that you are now suffering with. What worked for me?

1. Amoxicillin 500mg 3x a day

2. Benzaclin or Acanya (clindamycin phosphate mixed with 5% strength benzoyl peroxide)

3. antiseptic cleanser like hibiclens-quite unconventional but it really works.

4. topical tretinoin

The addition of oral antibiotics is crucial to prevent scarring.

Please see a dermatologist and get on the full monty of medications.

It's not clear from your post, but are you on accutane?

Yeah, I am on accutane (80mg/day). Just finished my first month. I thought I posted it in the accutane blog I started but maybe I didn't by accident. I post pictures mainly for myself to track my progress.

As for the things that worked for you, I tried all of those and they would only work temporarily. I got so sick of having to switch products ever 3-4 months, so I figured accutane was my best bet!

I understand. Fortunately for me my prescriptions continue to work after three years. I had no idea you were on accutane. Good luck with it! I hope it works for you.
