One week into the raw food diet, and I'm feeling pretty good! I've lost 5lbs so far, and my skin has already cleared up quite a bit.
I have been having some cravings for pasta and dairy, so last night I made an exception for some vegan "cheese". I also ate waaay too many nuts. Bad idea... I honestly knew at the time that it wasn't a good idea, but i just couldn't help myself. Anyway, this morning I had such a terrible stomach ache. It was awful... So, I won't be doing that again.
I went to my parents house this weekend, and I was pretty nervous about falling off the wagon, because my dad is SUCH a good cook... So I packed a bunch of fruits and veggies so I wouldn't be tempted. I did pretty good, and thankfully, my dad made a huge, delicious salad for me. I don't know what it is, but everything tastes better when my dad prepares it, even salads. Haha. I'm feeling pretty comfortable now with the diet, and I'm not too worried about visiting friends and relatives, or going out to eat.
My energy levels are still much better than they were prior to beginning the diet. I feel much more alert and focused, and much less stressed out. It's been pretty amazing so far seeing such big changes in such a small amount of time, all because of eating lots of clean, raw, fresh produce. I'm still also drinking about a gallon of water per day.
I've decided that if I don't stay fully raw at the end of the trial, I will definitely be staying vegan. I'm almost certain that I have some level of lactose/dairy intolerance. I'm considering getting an allergy test done just to see everything that I'm sensitive to.
Week 1 was super easy, and I'm so excited about continuing to see results!
