Well, I said that I would update every week on my Retin-a Experience. I'm really going to try, but things are about to get really crazy with my classes. Anyway, Week two....last week I said I was having absolutely no flaking or dryness. That has changed! By about Tuesday this week, I started noticing some peeling and flaking. Most of it's on my forehead and nose. It's not that noticeable yet.
Last night I went to the Clinique counter to buy makeup (I love their makeup!). I could tell the woman matching my color was biting her tongue about something. Finally, she blurted out, "You NEED a scrub!". I told her I was on Retin-a and everything, so she understood immediately where the peeling and flaking was coming from. I also told her that I was using dove beauty bar to wash my face with, and she nearly had a conniption. She told me that it was just stripping my skin (The derm never actually told me to use dove, but my regular doctor did a few weeks ago). So, my regimen has changed quite a bit now. Now I'm going to start using a scrub every other day, and a really nice cleanser to wash my face twice a day. I have to admit though, after using the clinique wash, my face felt better than it had in weeks. So much smoother, and not tight and itchy. I've used clinique before though, so I had no doubts that I would like it. It's also 100% fragrance free and allergy tested.
I would say overall, this week my skin is looking a lot better. Yes, there is peeling, but the tiny bumps are going away, and my blackheads are surfacing. I can feel some smooth areas on my skin.

Use Clinique's Exfoliating Scrub in the shower every other morning
Wash with Clinique's foaming cleanser
Apply Clinique's dramatically different moisturizer
WAIT ONE HOUR
Apply pea sized amount of Retin-a
Okay,so looking at it. My regimen has changed quite a bit. But after one use of these products, I can see and feel a real difference, so I don't feel too bad for switching it up.
