So I've been doing a modified version of the Regimen for about a week now. I was using SpecroDerm, BenzoClin and CeraVe. It's different, but I'm applying the theories of the Regimen.

After a good few days of being very dried out, the hardening effect is starting to diminish. My skin is skill getting zits but smaller ones, which is good. Though I've noticed more on my neck, where I didn't get them before. I looks like the breakouts are reaching to wherever the treatment wasn't put. Now my face and neck are all getting treatment.

I'm struggling with dry lips though. I'm using Vasaline at night. Apparently it's non-comedogenic and safe for use on the lips for the regimen. Because the dry area extended to the skin around my lips, I was applying it smear-like. Not sexy but moisturizing.

I'm a librarian in a large gold mining company. I'm the only one here that does my job, but most people don't know what that is. I sit at a desk and type. Like type a lot. Lines and lines of text, cataloging, data entry, reports, emails. You name it, I type it.

I have finally begun to accept that at 27 I have acne. I work in a formal office space and I feel like such a child loading on the concealer to hide the zits and hide the picking. It causes even more anxiety just thinking about it. Nevertheless, after finally accepting to myself that its not getting better, and if I just wash my face a certain way, or exfoliate with this, or use this face mask, or do this peel, it's still NOT getting better. So it's time to try something new.

I have just begun using BenzaClin (5% and 1%) during the day and Retin-A at night. My face is dry and flaky and red. And I'm not happy, and not sure if this is worth it, but I'm going to persevere. I'll give it a couple of weeks because I hear it gets better. I've ordered the cleanser and AHA cream from here and am looking forward to giving those a try. I currently use SpectroDerm for my wash, but it feels so unsatisfying to wash as gently with that as the Regimen suggests. Still going to gingerly wash my face, but I'm not happy about it. I'd much rather scrub and exfoliate because that's what feels natural and like it'll help, though we've already established it won't.

I've included a photo of myself at my wedding. Makeup hasn't managed to cover everything and you can see the texture issues. It's been worse than this most of the time. My lead up to the wedding was really diligent about face care and not picking.

Anyways, this is just a first hello.
