About this blog

This is a blog on my progess while on Diane35. Had great results while on Doxycycline & I am hoping to have the same results while on Diane35.

Hello fellow acne suffers. I have returned to acne.org not because I still have acne, but because I wanted to cheerfully say I have ZERO acne and have been clear for almost 1 full year without using any kind of medication. The only thing I use as a regimen is Elizabeth Arden's visible difference skincare line for oily skin. It does not contain any kind of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. My skin has never looked BETTER then it does now. All my hyper pigmentation marks are faded and my mild scarring is gone. I even feel somewhat comfortable going out in public with no makeup! It is an outrageous feeling. I look back to my old blog entries and it makes me sad. Sad on how much acne effected me. I still get the odd pimple here and there but it doesn't devastate me like it use to. I don't get cystic acne at all anymore however which is helpful. So basically one day my acne just cleared up by itself. I stopped diane35 and my antibiotics and my skin got way better then when I was on them. I guess you could say I outgrew acne. :)

Okay so I haven't updated in a while, but I would like to add that my acne is lessening! I am currently on package 4 of Diane35 and I definitely see a difference in my skin. I am still getting pimples but not as many as before, and they heal sooo fast it's insane.

Before I got home from school today my face was 97% clear. I only had old ones healing and 2 small active pimples. That is a huuuuge difference compared to a couple weeks ago or in the beginning of the month. Unfortunately when I came home from school and washed my makeup off I discovered a huuuuuuuuuge, and I mean HUGE pimple growing on my right cheek. I am definitely scared to see what this sucker looks like tomorrow. Right now it doesn't hurt and it just feels like a weird painless bump on my skin, but don't let that fool you. If I puff up my cheeks you can see the area turn white, so I know it's a pimple and I think it's the biggest pimple I've ever gotten in my LIFE. It's gonna hurt like nobody's business tomorrow morning.

I rubbed tea tree oil over it and then put benzoyl peroxide on top. So I am hoping that will help it not be a massive beast tomorrow morning. Hmm, besides that my face looks great! The initial breakout I got on my right side of my face is fiiiiiinally gone. Oh my GOSH it took forever to clear, like seriously. Almost 3 weeks? Or more. Now I only have 1 pimple in that area that popped this morning so it will be gone by tomorrow.

Also a new update, I said in one of my earlier entries that the girls at my school will probably have gorgeous flawless skin. Wow was I in for a shock! The majority of the girls get pimples! There are two girls in my class that never have clear skin. They're like me! They have at least one or two pimples on their face at all times. Not saying I'm happy, because I know how they feel, but it's nice to not feel like a freak.

I also stopped taking Septra/Bactrim because my month was up and I need to see the doctor so he can evaluate my skin to see if there was improvement in order to refill my prescription. Well basically Septra/Bactrim did absolutely nothing to my skin. I still had just as many breakouts as before. Kind of disappointing.

So yeah, I will try and keep this blog updated better. My life is pretty busy now I don't really have time to write big long blog entries. My boyfriend is coming over this weekend and I really really hope this huuge pimple is gone before he gets here, but I told him I got it so I doubt he'd care. He said he can't even see any pimples.. HA PLEASE. Anywaaays, I will make a quit update of how effing huge this pimple will be tomorrow morning. <3

So over the years, acne has really taken a toll to my face. I was examining my face with a super magnifying mirror. I do have scars, they may be very small but I have them. I've recently experienced and learned about hygroscopic raised scars. I have very small ones on my forehead, that I never really thought anything about and I still don't mind them because you cannot see them unless you are using a magnifier. However, this past month I got two fairly large Hypertrophic (raised) scars. One from a HUGE cyst I got on my chin, I can still feel it there but it doesn't hurt. It's gone though but there is still a small bump where it used to be, luckily you cannot see it you can only feel it. Then there is the one on my cheek.. and there is two scars right beside each other. It's driving me insane because the breakout I had there wasn't bad, it was just a small pimple that created 2 scars! :) well I think they're scars.. I don't really know. They are raised but don't hurt anymore when I push down hard.

S.O.B

I hate makeup! It makes my face feel itchy and uncomfortable. I wish I didn't have to wear it, but my hyper pigmantion marks are disgusting, even some I cannot hide with makeup. I can't wait to go home and wash it off. >:) NOT having a good day.

However, my face is staying relatively clear & very soft. Didn't wake up to any HUGE breakouts just 1 small pimple. I think my pills are starting to kick in, finally.

3 months - Diane 35

1 week 2 days - Septra

1 hour later..

HAHA PERFECT. I am getting pimple on my cheek! Please, someone kill me. I am so done with this crap.

YIPEE.

I have to say, I think my regimen is working!! My face looked great today, definitely a lot smoother. I think my previous cleanser was irritating my face, a lot. No new pimples today, just old ones healing!

New Regimen.

So today my mom went to the city and I decided I am going to start a Regimen. While I was on Doxycycline I didn't have much of a Regimen since my face was clear no matter what I did to it.

Morning:

Wash face with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser - I used this for the first time tonight and I absolutely love the way it makes me face feel! It's such a soft cleanser, and the smell is good too.

Apply Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Liquid Foundation + Mineral Wear Powder

Afternoon: Take 2 pills Septra, 1 pill Diane35.

Night:

Wash face with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser

Apply Benzac BP

Apply Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

Spot treat with Benzac BP

So there it is, I hope this helps my process to clear skin!

Okay, so anyone reading this knows that I had two REALLY bad breakouts on the sides of my face about 2 weeks ago. The breakouts have cleared a significant amount but the breakout on my right cheek looks HORRIBLY painful. There is about 2 very small active pimples and about 3 none active pimples that just sit there, and won't go away and they are all in a row. It looks almost like I got stitches and they are healing in a bumpy manor. Did I mention it HURTS a lot too? Like so much, ah! The only good thing is I can easily hide it with my hair, but when my boyfriend comes to see me I obviously can't really hide it. Also, it sucks because I love wearing my hair up, but for the past month I haven't been since it looks so shitty. :) I really hope my Diane35, or Septra kicks in soon, mostly because if it doesn't I am going to have really really bad scarring.

Status of Acne: No new pimples, just old marks and the 2 breakouts on the sides of my face are going away, slooooowly.

Progress of Acne: It seems like it is finally starting to get better, but I think that is because I am almost done my period.

Acne: Moderate.

So my face looks better today, old pimples are drying up and are healing & I woke up this morning with absolutely no new pimples! GOOD. I wonder how long it will last though.

I have noticed that the initial breakout on my right cheek area does not want to seem to go away. I have about 3 or 4 active small pimples and they just stay there, no matter how much spot treatment I do! Its really weird, its been about 3 weeks of this. Go away breakout!! jeez.

So one thing I have definitely noticed while being on Diane35, & Septra is when I do get a breakout I rarely get those really BIG pimples anymore. Usually it is small ones & whiteheads, something I have never had before. I am definitely happy I don't get those huuuggggeee pimples anymore and I am so thankful for my Benzac cream.

I think I've realized why I keep breaking out so badly these past 2 weeks. I am starting to get my period, and usually this happens around my period time. Thankfully I am almost done my period, and I am hoping my face will somewhat go back to normal.

Wow!

So I wake up this morning and I am developing 3 new farely large pimples on my right cheek. They happened overnight!! My skin has NEVER been this bad, ever in my entire life. It is so weird, it makes me afraid to even sleep. I clean my face religiously, I just don't understand.

Status of Acne: Right side of my face where the huge breakout was is pretty much gone, left side is gone just some red spots and dry spots. Pimple that formed on my left cheek overnight on Friday is going away. I think my makeup that I wore that night formed new pimples on my face. The zit that was on my jaw on the left side is also decreasing in size. The 2 pimples that I THOUGHT were forming aren't anything, just me being paranoid, thinking they were new pimples but actually in reality were old ones healing.

Progress of Acne: It is getting better, but I am not holding my breath.

Okay I took another look in the mirror at my acne, and it isn't bad.. I am being really really stupid. I wouldn't even say it's moderate, its more mild acne. I just have a hard time handling breakouts I guess & it doesn't exactly help that my older sister has perfect skin, & my younger sister who has GORGEOUS skin and my even younger sister has nice skin.

My youngest sister has skin like mine, right now it's clear but I have a feeling once she gets older its going to get bad. I really really hope not.

Status of Acne: Breakouts on the side of my face are almost gone, except I have developed a new pimple of my left cheek and I am getting 2 new (pretty large) pimples by my mouth/chin. Other side of my face is better, except I have a huge inflamed pimple on my chin, hurts like a MF!

Progress of Acne: NONE. It was clearing, but of course I just keep getting more.

Acne: Moderate.

NOOOOOOOOOOO! Why is acne so unpredictable? On Friday my face was virtually almost clear! I had only like, 2 or 3 active pimples on my face. Now, Saturday I have gotten 3 new pimples. I wouldn't mind ALL that much except for the 2 that are forming seem like they are going to be VERY large and painful. I have to work 3 days for 8 hours all day long in the sun, and now I have to deal with these new PIMPLES?!??!!?!?! Wow I am becoming extremely discouraged, soso discouraged. I mean I should probably stop worrying so much because other people's acne could be WAY worse then mine, but I still feel like a disgusting beast. I hate my skin, I hate my face. I FEEL SO UGLY! :'(

I am seriously considering Accutane. If I am going to breakout like this, I might as well be breaking out while on something that will give REAL results. I read the reviews on Septra, thinking it would help with my face, but it isn't. I know I've only been taking it for like 4-5 days, but I didn't think my acne would get worse? And my Diane35 pills are doing absolutely nothing for me too. I am even more anxious and scared to start my new school on the 8th because I wouldn't be surprised if all the girls there have gorgeous and flawless skin, while I am going to be sitting there caked up with makeup looking like a hideous monster! If I could relive this year I would have just took Accutane instead of Doxycycline.

Status of Acne: Left side of my face is 98% clear, besides my new (suprisingly small) & painless cystic pimple. Right side of my face is 96% clear on that initial breakout, still have like 2 small active pimples. Probably will take longer to clear up. Chin is clear. Overall not too bad.

Progress: Septra may be working, my cystic pimples usually are huge & very hurtful but this new one is pretty small and painless, maybe not a cyst? No new breakouts, just dry & spotted face from this initial breakout.

Acne: Moderate.

It is fair day! & my face looks 10000 times better then before. No new breakouts, just one new not noticable pimple. Feeling pretty good. I hope it keeps up. :) Today will be day 3 on septra, & month 2 on diane35.

:(

So today is the fair, & I woke up to take my usual new pimple check.. everything seemed okay except I am developing a new cystic pimple in the corner of my mouth! DAMN. I was hoping I wouldn't get anymore..

Status of Acne: Almost all cleared up.

Progress: Some acne is surfacing but clearing up.

Acne: Moderate.

Okay, the fair is tomorrow & I am almost cleared up. So far I have not experienced any side effects due to Septra, but I don't know if its working either. I've only been on it for 2 days, so I don't really except anything just yet. I am kind of worried these pills wont work because they aren't DS. I think it should be okay, I have to take 2 which adds up to 800mg/160mg since it is doubled. I just really want this to work, otherwise I am going to have to go on accutane.

Diane35 isn't really doing much, yet. Gotta be patient.

Okay wow, those pills are effing huge!! I can tell my face has stopped swelling already. I had a small pimple near my chin and popped it and it's already gone! It's amazing how much better my face looks compared to on Friday. I've been on pimple breakout lock down, pretty much. I am trying so desperately to get my face almost clear before the fair on Friday. I have to say, I've been doing a pretty good job. So far I don't feel any side effects, except for a super dry mouth, but I've been drinking LOTS of water though, so it's not too bad. I really hope I don't have an allergic reaction.

So I have taken my Diane35 pill too. I am going to try Diane35 and Septra together and see how it goes. I don't want to be on Septra for a long time, so when I go off Septra I will still have Diane35 helping my skin and making my period regular since it's so horribly off. I really really hope Septra works so I can write a review about it and not have to worry about my acne for a while.

septra!!

Okay so my doctor prescribed me septra, let's see if it will work! I really hope I don't have an allergic reaction. Once my face starts to clear up I am going to try my diane35 again.

Status of Acne: No imflamed acne, or new acne. Only healing ones.

Progress: Left side of my breakout is 98% cleared up, right side still has a little ways to go. I swear that cystic pimple on my chin is never going to leave! It doesn't even hurt anymore.. its just like sitting there, unaffected. wtf?! the rest of my chin is 99% clear except for one small pimple.

Acne: Moderate.

So I am not going to take my Diane35 pill today. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow for sure & I am going to still ask about! Septra. It seems like a very recommended drug. 4/5 rating! that's awesome. It looks to me like it works relatively well on people who aren't allergic to sulfur, which I don't think I am. Now it is just the matter if my doctor will prescribe it to me. I react amazingly to antibiotics, so I really really want to try this.

Side Effects.

So I am having a hard time handling this aching pains in my body side effects. I am seeing my doctor either tomorrow or on Wednesday. I am going to ask him about Bactrim, Septra. I've seen a lot of good reviews on the drug and no side effects. I think it might be a better thing for me.
