Week 17 Day 128

Posted by leelowe1 in To Acne with no love, 27 April 2015 · 3 views

One step forward, two steps back.   I am going to have to cut back on the amount and frequency of my topicals as my skin is so red, parched and at times, itchy.  For the past few days, I've had to moisturizer before any topicals and at times, it has burned something fierce.  This happened for a few weeks before my eczema exploded when I was on the regimen...

Healing, But Slightly Impatient

Posted by hope2013 in Hoping For Clear Skin with Spironolactone & Atralin, 26 April 2015 · 18 views

It's Day 32 & I'm glad that my cheeks & jawline on both my right and left side are done purging (I think). Now, there's just a few marks healing up on my right side, and a couple on my left lower cheek that are healing as well.

My chin has a couple of stubborn red marks, but again, I'm hoping they heal with moisturizer soon!

There were a couple...

Accutane Day 7

Posted by piano36 in piano36's Blog, 26 April 2015 · 14 views

Starting to see some more side effects lately. Again, nothing too bad, just more dryness and skin sensitivity. I had to switch from my usual Cetaphil Cleanser (the one for all skin types) to a gentler face wash. I've tried a few since then, and have found a couple that don't make my skin sting at all when I use them:

My Acne Story

Posted by Gabrielle90 in Gabrielle90's Blog, 25 April 2015 · 7 views

Hi my name is gaby! I have been suffering from acne for 3 and 1/2 years. I am now 14. It started when I was 11 years old and is much much worse today.  It was so embarrassing to get acne in 4 grade. Most people in my class didn't mind at all. I was actually popular.

Then in 6th grade I switched schools. I went from a very small private school to a huge...

Posted by SharonS in SharonS' Blog, 20 April 2015 · 35 views

I have struggled with acne since 1974.  It is genetic, several family members have also struggled trying to resolve chronic acne.  My mother's  cystic acne was chronic and terribly scarring.  She was a nurse and had access to treatments had underwent multiple types of treatment in the 50's including heat lamp treatments.  Nothing...

First Step

Posted by scaredbutexcited in My accutane Story, 19 April 2015 · 38 views

I started taking Accutane yesterday on 10mg a day. My first pill yesterday left me feeling quite nauseas and I had it straight after my food. Today no nauseas. No side effects at all yet. I am so very nervous for the side effects. I have quite a vibrant social life and I am incredibly scared of having a initial breakout, but I guess it's worth it to have...

Start Of - Ziana

Posted by Mels23 in Mels23's Blog, 18 April 2015 · 43 views

5 days ago my tube of Ziana came in. For the days preceding it I was super worried about this stuff. I heard a lot of negative reviews of how the purging phase lasted forever and that overall a lot of people were unsatisfied with the results. But there were quite a few that said you just need to know how to use it right, so I guess I'm willing to give it...

I've been a silent observer to this website for a very long time. So long in fact that I have already made the life-changing decision to begin an Isotretinoin treatment and am currently on my 47th day of treatment. Reading so many other blogs has inspired me to create my own, especially when I've experienced the difference it has made for me to read the c...

Accutane-Week 13 (Be Grateful!)

Posted by l9germaine in l9germaine's Blog, 18 April 2015 · 47 views

I no longer count the days or weeks. Its taking less time to get ready and I no longer stare at my face in every possible reflection. I am extremely happy with the progress in this month.
What makes me laugh is that when a new spot comes out, a tiny spot and just one; I get angry. You have to realize what you have gone through and how far you...

Hey everybody,
2 weeks into the regimen I decided to share my acne.org regimen journey with everyone.

I had 3 active pimples and a lot of hyper pigmentation on my left and right side of my cheek. Forehead clear and chin was clear.
By the end of the week skin felt really dry and a bit of flaking

Keeping a list of previous products and their ingredients so I know what ingredients I can safely use.
Loved the Dove Deep Moisture facial lotion with spf 15 even though it was for dry skin. Never caused a problem and made my skin so awesome. Had green tea in it, too! They discontinued it.

8 Weeks Off Epuris

epuris, accutane, aczone

Thought I'd give a short little update on my progress. I was on Epuris from November 2014 until mid-February 2015. I stopped my treatment about 20 days before I was supposed to, because I just couldn't do it anymore. My mental state was just not... the best during these months. It was probably unrelated to the medication, but I believe that the medication...

Day 8

Posted by LexiGunn in Journey to clear skin, 10 April 2015 · 43 views

Finally past that first week mark.
My skin is definitely improving on my cheeks, the spots are becoming less red and inflamed. Although I woke up this morning with a little breakout on my forehead, but it is nothing to noticeable - to be honest I'm not to worried about the spots on my forehead, mostly on my cheeks is where I feel most vulnerable....

Side Effects After First Treatment The day after my first treatment I did not notice any redness, peeling, or breakouts.

The third day after my face did peel (all over) but so minor and slightly that you couldn't even really notice it.

Along the fourth/fifth day I did notice the breaking out symptoms they talked about. I got one pimple on my left cheek and four small pimples along my ja...

Day 44

Hello my beauts! So day 44 of this journey and well the dryness around my eyes is just unreal. I don't know if last time I mentioned that I got an eye cream but that isn't even working for me! It's all super red and flaky and itchy. Just plain unpleasant really.
My face is healing up quite a bit since the last awful breakout. There is about 4 spots...

What To Learn From Two Acne Treatment Books

Posted by BraveAcneWarrior in BraveAcneWarrior's Blog, 04 April 2015 · 74 views

What To Learn From Two Acne Treatment Books I recently ran into two books about curing acne from our local library book shelf. I would love to share some of my thoughts on these books and maybe you will want to check them out yourself.
First one is called The acne prescription by Nicholas Perricone.  The second one is called The acne cure by Terry J.Dubrow and Brenda D.Adderly.

Posted by ScarlettShannon in 28F - Accutane - Acne Sufferer for 17 years, 04 April 2015 · 53 views

I haven't been writing because there's nothing new to report. My skin is starting to get better again after my gross hormonal (perhaps an "initial") breakout. Hoping that I won't get another one this month. My side effects are about the same or better, except for the dryness on my face and lips, which seems to be a little worse.

It's still weird to me h...
