acne accutane regimen help
Ok so I'll try and give you a quick overview of my acne history. I'm 22 years old and I have been suffering from acne for about 10 years now. I have tried everything that has been available to me, prescribed drugs, creams, cleansers etc. I also suffer with HS.

The last few years I had accepted who I am and how I look. Actually leaving the house without feeling the need to wear make up. Also last year I had my biggest achievement and while I was on holiday I went to the beach in a bikini!! Bare in mind I haven't done this since I was about 9 as I have such bad scaring all over my back, that as well as having the HS under my arms!!

About 4 months ago I broke out so bad. I've got acne where I hadn't previously and it's a different type of acne. I feel like I'm back to square one. I can't even leave the house without make up on to do the simplest of things like walking the dogs. I came across this site and decided to order the regimen. The doctors have also prescribed me with accutane ( not so sure on this). I have previously been on accutane when I was 17, honestly I didn't get the results I was hoping for.

I'm second day in the accutane treatment starting on 30mg, and second day on the regimen. I did ask my nurse if it was ok to do the both and she said yes, although I'm not sure if she really knows what the regimen is. I was wondering if you could give me some advice if doing the both is a good.... Or a very bad idea??

choose one or the other.  You're going to damage your skin.

I think you should try like heck to prevent the accutane initial breakout. So yes, I think you should do both. Just use an oil-free moisturizer and don't overwash. Good luck!!:)

i would also choose one or the other. Accutane makes your skin dry and oil free and so does the regimen especially at the beginning. If the regimen will work for you then why do accutane. Not everyone is side effects free after finishing accutane it is riskier than doing the regimen. Good luck with waterer you decide:)

I agree with choosing one or the other. Accutane works great, but dry dry skin is definitely going to happen. I'd be nervous that your skin will be insanely dry doing both at the same time.
